New CZC 75 P-01 Compact SDP. ** Now, with range report, p.2 **
thanks 12123,for all the info.
I know a lot of us dont like to buy a gun, then pay more for a better trigger, but just about all guns, have to go to a specialist like bruce gray,or cajun, czc,or apex.
Just the the way guns are built today, unless you buy it custom done, and the price will be higher

Great info here, thanks!
I've really bought in to CZ PCRs. Funded my son's first official legal purchase of a pistol, the PCR; and then wife and daughters' loved it so got another for the family.
Nothing like custom work but from my personal experience the 75 design has always needed some use (dry firing and actual rounds) to really smoothen the trigger action. The PCR triggers out of the box were not great but displayed significant improvement after a lot of dry firing (with an O ring) and a few hundred rounds. My first experience with the design in the late 80s was a steel Springfield P9C that similarly just got better with use.

Its meant as a carry gun w/ no safety so likely a buffer there for safe carry. I also think the decocker might have something to do with it as the DA is slightly gritty. This is the third Pro-Tek I've handled and all were like that. I've got a query in to Angus and crew about that.

That's why I can never justify paying the Pro-Tek price. A $2k gun (yes, it is $2k currently listed on their website) with that kind of a trigger? No way. Look, their SDP (decocker, no safety) DA weight is listed at 7.5/8.2 lbs. So, there is no legit excuse for the Pro-Tek DA to be at 9.25 lbs.

A friend has offered to clean up the DA for me. He was on TeamSig and sponsored by CZ before that so I trust him to do it right. I wonder if I should order a bag of CGW parts to swap in though. Supposedly, the Pro-Tek has been worked over already but the proof is in the feel (and as you said, 9.25lbs is over spec and not much diff than stock).

Congrats, PGT - I saw your Protek 1 on the local board and "almost" reached out to the seller.....I, too, recently added an all steel P-01 (99021) to my collection and thoroughly enjoy it. These CZs are pretty nifty.

Thanks - did you pick that 99021 off the board, too? I was slated to get it but wasn't comfortable with the seller's terms (sitting in his kitchen to do paperwork, etc). He refused to do the transaction in public for fear of a felony charge for "brandishing". Yeah, we're in VA...that's not a thing here (he had a Cambridge, MA number so perhaps was projecting behaviors there).
I did snag a 99041 last week for less $$ brand new so it all worked out.

Yes, but I bought from the Librarian at the Waffle House a day or two before Thanksgiving. Someone should tell that kitchen table guy VA has open carry and brandishing infers some sort of threat circumstance.
I wonder if we'll see the 99021 or 99041 models become standard stock for CZ?? My trigger has smoothened out nicely as my son I have increased Elite Shooting Sports' profit margin.

He kept calling it "a felony" and I even read him the statute over the phone. He was having none of it. Even offered to pay an FFL fee if he'd meet me at one and he actually questioned why I'd do that (as if I was a prohibited person or something, which is illogical).
Anyways...happy to end up with 99041 and the two P-01's w/ Omega triggers. Now, to put in my CGW order(s)....

I bet seeing his own shadow would scare him shitless.

LOL. Not too scared to let a stranger sit in his kitchen though. I just didn't want to end up in his basement dungeon, being told to shut up or I'd get the hose again (since I'd have to go after work and can't carry or store in vehicle).

They are good little pistols, I carry my P-01 during the winter months. I noticed you mentioned the trigger bite issue. I run the"old style" 85C triggers from CGW on all of my CZ's one of best upgrades you can do. I see you aren't running the stock super aggressive curved trigger though from CZ.
I shoot my P-01 considerably better than my P228, especially once I go past 20 yards.
What has been you observation?

Total rounds fired: 227
Distance: 10 yards
Position: standing, 2-handed
Malfunctions: none
Impressions: Extremely well balanced, comfortable to hold and shoot. The +P feels less snappy in this CZ than comparable shooting in my P228. Trigger is smooth and crisp. But, one thing I wish is that they would round out the abrupt edge of the trigger. That would make for much more pleasant shooting, if you shoot more than a few hundred rounds in a session.
Pic shows the 10-yard shoots. I honestly just can't recall which target is which ammo. But, I know for sure that the bottom left target had 43 rounds of various ammo through it. Also did some mag dumps at 7 yards (no pic), and the gun was fast back on target.
Excellent Shooting BTW :-)
Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

Is your trigger factory for that gun, or a substitute? It has a lot less curvature than mine (unmodified), which flays the skin off my finger. It looks much like that of the PCR I used to have, which didn't give me any problems. The difference is apparent in this picture of mine.

Not for nothing (my favorite teacher used that term), but I have dry fired the tarnation out of this CZ Compact (99021 all steel). It's remarkably smoother than when I bought it. I have mixed feelings on dry firing and don't usually do so with any obsession.
I'm considering asking CGW for only their short reach trigger job, trying to save some funds (instead of their full-on pro package).

Yours is bone stock, as it came from CZ factory. The one in the OP is the stock gun that has been worked on by CZC. The specs are listed in the OP. The original trigger was replaced with the "CZC 85 trigger w/ no overtravel screw".
