Hello guys,

I ordered this guy last week and was able to pick it up today. I waited for the OD green, but they never showed up at my dealer, so I took this girl home. No biggie on the FDE color. I have a AR22 that is an exact match for the color, so it was a win win Big Grin.

I took it in the back yard to run a few rounds through it and damn is this thing quiet. My suppressor is an old AAC Pilot that I had recored by EECO machine with stainless baffles. I’ve had this can since 07 and it is still as quiet as anything on todays market. I hope to get to the range soon to zero the optic and see what it can do. All in all, it is a nice compact quiet package.

Very nice. The beauty of those short barrels is that they stay subsonic even with standard velocity ammo. I had a love/hate relationship with my MkIV when I first got it, but now that I've poured way too much money into it and worked out all the bugs, I absolutely love it.

If yours give you any trouble, Volquartsen has the answers.

maybe I can learn somthing. I have never had stadard velocity stuff (I use CCI) go supersonic in barrels from 4" to 20". Does it under some circumstances? (I live at sea level so I guess in the clouds it might).

By standard velocity I meant pretty much any bulk pack .22 (not high velocity stuff like minimags, stingers, etc.). It all goes supersonic out of my rifles. If you're talking CCI Standard specifically, that stuff usually doesn't.

At a reported 1070 fps, CCI 40 gr. standard velocity solids are my preferred rimfire round for suppressed fire. With this load and a silencer installed, my 2" Ruger MK II is 100% reliable. With the can removed however, reliability drops to ~50% due to decreased back pressure.

Very nice! A silly quiet suppressed .22 I think is next on my hit list for the year. I've put some .22 rounds through my suppressed AR with a conversion kit, and it's just too much fun. An SBR'ed Ruger Charger might fit the bill, but those dedicated suppressor host 22/45's are really intriguing. I don't much care to shoot unsuppressed anymore, so they're starting to make more sense.

Well... respectfully, I'd say the reason it's as quiet as anything on today's market is probably because you had Ecco recore it. Really, it's not an AAC anymore, it's an Ecco can with an AAC tube and serial number on it. Ecco makes fantastic suppressors. My 9mm ten baffle Ecco Phoenix is noticeably quieter than my friend's R9 and Obsidian in the full configuration. It was $430. Ecco's cans are probably the best kept value secret on the market. Guys have him rebuild cans with his baffles and then sleep on his fully built suppressors. It's kind of a shame.

Just curious about the accuracy? How does it group with the shorter barrel?
Sharp looking setup!!

You are 100% correct. It really is an ECCO can in an AAC Tube. It is a shame they are not doing the work anymore, but business is booming for them and he does not have the time for this type of work.

It is shooting about an inch at 15yds, but I have to worker harder for it than on my longer barreled .22’s.

I have one of the 22/45 Lite models that I got as a compromise between a more standard MK4 and a dedicated suppressed pistol. The logistics of carrying it around with a suppressor attached has me looking at this model.

I was in a gun shop long time ago, and talking to the shop owner about suppressors (was probably calling it a silencer back then), and he walked back into his office space, and walked out carrying a suppressed Mark II, and while he was walking he pointed it into a sand-filled cigarette canister on the floor, and popped off two rounds into the sand. I was impressed how quiet it was, there was nothing to it in terms of sound. I was thoroughly impressed. He said they had experienced a couple armed robberies or attempts thereof, and next time he would be ready.

I suppose he would have got the jump on them if any more bad guys came back for more. His shop was in a bad part of town, maybe he couldn't afford to relocate, or maybe he was just a tough cuss.

I don't recall going back to that shop, probably because the neighborhood was a little dicey.

But I'll never forget that sound... pfft--pfft. That was it. Impressive.
