Does anyone know if the Short Reset Trigger kits (either factory or Grayguns) are compatible with my X5 Allround? Have a Stainless Elite P220 with this feature and really like it.

Yes, I installed it one my Alround BUT after a couple of hundred shots, it broke. They slide was blocked so I had to send it to the factory where they fixed it and I was said, that the SRT is not recommended for the X-Five...

Of course, now, we'll probably never know the reason why they said that, but it makes little sense to me. The Allround is just a fancied up DA/SA P226. Why is the SRT not recommended in it? Can't be anything technical, because rock185 had it installed in his Allround, and apparently, his is not broken, or he would have mentioned it.
But, other other hand, there must be a reason why the Allround is not equipped with the SRT from the German factory. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 12131,

12131 you and the others have given me a little more to think about. Had talked to Grayguns about their Kit and they didn't seem to indicate that there would be issues. Kind of moot at the moment as no one has the parts in stock.

Bruce put a medium contour short reset trigger in mine. The gun had several issues but the trigger did well over tens of thousands of rounds. Quite well.

I have both early P239's and an early version of the P229 Elite Stainless that has an SRT trigger. I have NEVER liked that SRT trigger. Because I have measured the creep in that trigger and it is a full 1/16 inch. While it's not noticeable in rapid fire it is VERY noticeable When tring to hit a 10 inch gong at 50 yards. On the other hand my P239's both have a sear creep that measures in at 0.017 inch. BTW, an original Korth revolver featured a sear creep of 0.014 inch. So, my lowly old P239 has a single action trigger that approaches the quality of the finest revolver ever made. BTW, I've also measure the creep on my S&W revolvers and those come in at 0.015 to 0.017 inch.
Now I will admit that I haven't checked the triggers on newer SRT equipped Sig's. However at the time it was introduced it was stated that a longer sear engagement was required with the SRT triggers because with the standard sear engagement they had a tendency to double and triple fire if the shooter "rode the reset" and we all know how the ATF would respond to that.
Concerning this X5 All Around my memory is that it was introduced about 6 months after my P229 Elite Stainless. So it would probably end up just as creepy if the standard SRT kit is installed. If you really feel the need to tinker with that trigger I would advise you send it to Bruce Grey. Because I am quite certain you will get a much better trigger than what that SRT kit will provide.
I've stopped counting.

Scooter, FWIW, within my humble experience some SRT sears with some hammers will give more or less, and I agree sometimes unacceptable creep. Other times, imperceptible creep and very clean break. I have experienced this in trying more than one SRT sear with this or that particular gun. This is much as I would expect if changing sears in a 1911 or Hi Power, etc.
BTW, back when SIG introduced the SRT kits, they would not sell me one, even though I was a LE SIG armorer. They would only install it if one sent the gun back to SIG. I did send my Allround back, and SIG installed the SRT kit. SIG had no admonitions against, or any reluctance whatsoever in installing the SRT kit in the X-5 Allrounds at the time. And I experienced no issues with it after installation....
