It’s funny you should say this because it was when my daughter was born that I migrated back to DA/SA for similar reasons. I was thinking of little kids bumping into/tugging on me etc. and just felt more comfortable with the, albeit small, extra added safety of that long heavy first pull and external hammer. I also started carrying more in retention type holsters. Again I don’t say this to preach to other folks. This is just something I felt better for me personally and I tend to just enjoy hammer fired arms more. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

I just had a chance this week to qualify on the Army M17 and it looks like I'll get one issued for the deployment I'm ramping up for. Anyway, yeah pretty short and light trigger for a striker gun, I'm glad it has a safety and I'm not a "safety" kind of guy with my other pistols, hate it on the M9. It is a sweet shooter though, the pop up qual is easy, but I hit 30/29 (yes, 29 shots got 2 with one bullet ) “People have to really suffer before they can risk doing what they love.” –Chuck Palahnuik Be harder to kill: https://preparefit.ck.page
