While reading about the Ruger 5.7, I ran across this from Guns & Ammo.

Ruger has made the LCPII in 22 caliber.

I am quite interested. Providing it works. So I will await real world range reports.
UPDATE: I sent the link to my old partner and he just got his hands on one. $375 with an extra mag.
He says it shoots great. His only complaint is the sights are minimal. He told me his LGS had ten and sold them all quickly.

I think there was a thread about these earlier. I would also like to get one, but don't want to be a beta-tester for Ruger. The concept is great - kinda like a poor man's S&W 2213 or 2214 Smile

I missed that thread. If I had caught it, I would not have posted this one.

The MSRP to me is expensive, in my opinion .

Stupid safety.

The safety is only on the .22 version. No engineers called to ask me my opinion... but I suppose the thinking was that the .22 would be for some training but a lot of them would be field guns. Like a Ruger Bearcat or S&W M63. "Tacklebox gun" or "kit gun." Little .22 to drop in a pocket or in your gear to "take with" when you aren't actually going shooting. So if you think of it as a plinker or spur of the moment vermin gun... perhaps the safety seems like a reasonable choice.

As long as it is out of the way and not prone to "going on" when carried... I can live with that.

I think they look tempting as well. Would be a fun little playing around gun. And pocket gun when going down to the creek for some not serious fishing.
