I saw one of these glock 19m models at a gun store, made in the usa with a Georgia state stamp on the side with a rebuilt tape on it, are these FBI guns by any chance?

Yes, but IIRC, there have been some 19M stamped runs that made it out to the various distributors. But yes, the 19M is the FBI contract model.

What does the “M” signify?

If they are 19M, they should have Ameriglo Agent sights (I think they are Agent) and a bump on the back side of the slide release and an enlarged mag release.

Glock Store has some they are claiming to be FBI but don't have the right slide release and mag release, in addition have what appear to be suppressor sights which I don't think are FBI issue.

I've heard, and Glock Store sort-of confirm, that when they are refurbished, the nDLC internals are removed and standard Glock parts substituted.

I'm not by any means an expert, but I wanted a 19M, never could find one, so I bought a standard 19MOS Gen 5 and added Ameriglo Night Sights just because I wanted night sights.

I think the Glock Store 19M's have the slide marked as 19M, so there's that going for it.

The actual 19M models are not even available direct from the Glock factory under the Blue Label program for current/retired military/law enforcement. I checked a few years ago and was politely informed via email strictly available only via the FBI contract.

The "M" stands for man and the "G" in Glock is used only as in G-Man.

But seriously, like the others have said, on gen 4 "M" Glocks had a different coating, barrel, no finger grooves, beveled mag well, rounded front of the slide/frame, etc., pretty much a precursor to a gen 5 with a few tweaks. It is a neat gun but I don't know if I would pay more for one.

The current crop of FBI "M" G19's on the market are pistols that were produced for the FBI but not shipped to or accepted by them. The NDLC internals are removed as part of the factory rebuild process. Other than that, the pistols are as specified by the contract. The suppressor height sights are also correct for the most recent iteration of the FBI M pistols.

And, regarding the NDLC removal, I don’t understand the reasoning, either. If they were never accepted by the FBI, the assumption would be they were never used. So, why remove it to rebuild?

I've never gotten a clear explanation as to whether it's an FBI contract requirement or an internal requirement that the NDLC internals be removed. There are some early 17M's and 19M's that were sold to South Carolina DPS that DO have the NDLC internals that are currently hitting the secondary market as the agency bought G45's. I've also seen SCDPS pistols that were acquired a little later that do NOT have NDLC internals, so buyer beware on those.

I went back today to take a closer look and it did have front serrations which others I have seen googling did not, I had made up my mind to buy it if it was smooth but not to be had.

I did have the lgs take it apart and it had definitely had been shot, I would guess a couple thousand rounds as there was wear in the top of the slide top of barrel all the usual places it did have the fresh copper looking grease like it came right from the factory.

it also had tall front and rear sights I'm guessing for cowitness. I asked if they had any more and they did asked if I could see some others and he said they were all exactly the same. Hoping to find a unicorn I guess.

There is a G19M Gen 5 MOS seen it online.

My Understanding were the G17M/G19M just designated the ameriglo sites and other little features to fit the FBI contract.

Otherwise all Gen 5's have the "Glock marksman barrel".

EDIT SUMMARY: These "17M/19M" guns are akin to a M11A1 from SIG, i.e. they were always going to be commerical, and its basically a fanboy type thing to sell more guns. *i.e. they were never going to be a Special Agent's gun*

Sadly true. I sent unissued P228s and later, unissued P239s to the contractor for destruction. Only other options were "transfer to another Fed agency" or "transfer Foreign."
