I opted and installed Trijicon HD XR night sights on my G45. They also make one for
G17. That model have a thinner front sights, giving shooters wider front target view. You might want to check that one out also.

Ameriglo sights are great. Ive had good luck with them. I have the Pro I Dots on two or three handguns.

There are a lot of good options out there (good thing), depends on budget and preference. I had Trijicon HD's on my G19 and like them a lot except that the rear sight is kind of sharp and they dig into me when carrying IWB, these days my G17 gen5 has a blacked out rear and FO front with a light and it works a lot better for me.

I don't run night sights on my pistols that have a rail unless they came that way from the factory since I always have a WML on the pistol anyway. But, I don't dislike the Ameriglo bold sights. Like others have said, given the option, I'd choose a black rear.

I have them on one of my 17s, the other would wear the XRs as well but that one will be getting a red dot. Love the XRs.

I have Ameriglo Bolds with orange fronts on all my Glocks. I can't say enough good things about them. The front sight pops, and POA/POI is dead on (mid-hold). Buy with confidence.

Let me know if you have any issues with poi/poa.
I can’t use gen5 night sights. I put gen3/4 Ameriglos on all my gen5 guns to fix my poi/poa issues.

Since buying my first set of Trijicon HD's, I'll never buy another set again. They can be found pretty cheap online.

The last Glock I won (17-gen5), after I got a confirmed order number, I called and asked it they could put sight sku #47283 (45 sights) on it instead of sku #47285 (9mm sights). Basically a +1 sight for the 9mm.

I explained to the nice lady that I like the POI at the top of the front sight instead of target covered by the front sight and would change it out anyway when I got it. (all they could do is say no right?)
Surprisingly enough she called the line guys and they said, 'sure, no problem'. Happy camper me!!

I went with the Heine Straight 8 sights and could not be more pleased. I’ve shot Straight 8s on my competition pistols for years and tend to shoot more accurately and faster when using them on my carry guns.
