365 Mag release issue? Login/Join

Hi

Friend of mine sent me a blurb from X about the mag release button falling out when no mag is in the gun. I saw a few things on google about it but who knows from either of those sources.

Anyone heard about it, Any truth to it,

Thanks,

Never had any issue with my P365s over the years.

I will note that some P365 grip modules, especially aftermarket, come without the mag release mechanism installed. So it's possible that the few that have reportedly failed were improperly installed by the owners when switching to a new grip module.

I have used the OEM module, one from Wilson Combat, and another from Tyrant CNC and haven't had an issue with any of them. If anything, I've had more trouble removing them from the frames than with them falling out. As long as the little keeper is in place they aren't going anywhere.

The best defense is a good offense, and I'm really offensive. Wink

I saw Sean Strickland's post on 'X' yesterday. Considering the amount of pistols out there, it's not something I would be too worried about unless I was doing a lot of training with the P365. Even then, I would be more concerned about broken trigger bar return springs.
I have a P365x that I shoot a little and carry occasionally. For that role, I like it.

Thanks for the replies, I did not think it was anything, been carrying one quite a while and it's been flawless..

I've read about the spring in the mag release failing due to rust in very humid climates. A couple of companies make stainless? or some kind of rust resistant springs for them. I stumbled across them on the innerwebz after launching the Wilson Combat spring into outer space. WC was kind enough to send me a couple, though.
