Wife and kiddos got me a Streamlight TLR-6 for father's day.....stripped screw
I installed the light/laser combo on my Glock 48. I really like it but one of the body screws, the head is stripped.

I haven't tried to remove it yet. I'm hoping one of my precision bits can get it out. My fault. I over tightened. Pretty soft metal, though.

Streamlight is sending me new screws and housing.

Any suggestions on removal?

Turning the screw the other way to loosen it might not be stripped too bad to unscrew. I've had that happen. If there is loctite on the threads, maybe put a few drops of Kroil down in there. Good luck.

Good point. I will try that first.

Thanks!

Body screw? The ones for the switch assembly?

Yes. The one closest to the trigger guard.

Sorry, I was thinking TLR-7.

I got it! I used a small torx bit and shoved it in the stripped head. It came right out. Whew!
