recently picked up this really nice Sigg P2 30 SL with original Magazine. I like the way it handles and shoots much better than my PPKs.

The only disappointment is looking for additional mags. The OEM mags are super expensive. There are pro mags available. I ordered two hoping they function

Nice find! I keep looking for one myself, but they are all safe and sound in someone else's hands.

They are good looking guns, and the wood grips complete the package.

Those were/are gorgeous guns and yours is no exception. It's a shame they don't make them anymore.

P230 is the only gun I have ever "limp wristed" on.
A local sheriff's depart had a bunch of them (back in the day) for the command staff to use in plain clothes/off duty.
I knew the range officer and he said there was several of command staff that also had problems limp wristing them.
I bought mind for my GF to shoot and she had no problem other then it seems the smoke of shooting kicked up her asthma.

Interesting. I also have a P230SL (Made in W Germany), and none of my magazines are anywhere near that shiny. It came with the original gray box with gray foam and five magazines that all have the matching silvery/gray base plate. Their body finish more closely matches the frame of the pistol. Also, two don't have round count numbers.

I really like the wood grips; mine came with the factory black plastic panels and Hogue finger groove grip.

As my good luck would have it, i bought a new P232SL then promptly bought two more factory mags.

Sig stopped producing them the next year.

I’ve owned several P230 (232’s). I only have one left but, for me, the best for occasional carry. Stainless slide. Black ally frame. Houge G10 grips. It’s much snappier than the all steel versions, but a great carry gun.

Looks identical to my first one including the same grips from Grips4U. Do you have the original box too? Is it a Herndon VA import?

Seriously, no, I don't. I have some miserable experiences with ProMags in other pistols. On the other hand, I have used ProMags with a Walther/Manhurin PP, and they worked fine. Go figure.

I just picked up some pro mags and fired two boxes with no issues ….they work flawlessly.

Hey everyone, I’m new to the forum and just picked up a really nice Sig P230SL but it’s double action only with no deCocker. I haven’t seen much info on the DAO versions. Anybody know about how many were made they seem more scarce. Great info here.!

Just watch for slide bite, these are known to slice you if you choked up a lot on your grip or had big hands. I had a blued P232 for a few years and always wore shooting gloves just as a precaution after hearing that here.

They are very scarce. I've only seen pics of a couple and have never seen one IRL. Post some pics of yours if you can. I'd love to see them.

Never knew there was a DAO P230 and would like to see some info on this pistol.

I recommend the OEM mags, yes they are more expensive my promag experience is 10+ years old but they were problematic. Weak springs I think. I love the P230SL a cool looking pistol from a bygone era all stainless heavy and very cool looking.
