I was reading the why do you own a SIG thread and I got to thinking. The first gun I think of/image in my head when I hear the word pistol the image of a SIG P226 pops into my head, maybe a Beretta 92. Not a Glock 17, not a 1911 nor HiPower nor Luger. A P226/92fs. I guess it’s because I am a child of the 80s and I eventually cut my teeth on SIGs.
So even though they are not my go to pistols those are the two images that pop to mind when I think handgun/pistol.
So what pops into your head first and foremost. The image, the connotation not necessarily your favorite or the best or whatever. Just the immediate images that pop to mind, sort of the gun nut Rorschach test if you will.

I guess I'd say P229, just because it was my first and was EDC forever. It's the pistol I'm most familiar with.
But before that, it'd probably be a Beretta, thanks to Lethal Weapon. Maybe a High Power if I'd seen Beverly Hills Cop recently.
But as a kid, if you asked me to draw a pistol, it would've been a 1911, because of GI Joe toys. I wouldn't have known it was a 1911, it's just what my drawing would've resembled.

A Fanner 45. When I was a kid, I got this toy gun for Christmas. It shot plastic bullets that were loaded onto a springed cartridge. You could past a round cap on the shell and when you draw the pistol, you would fan the hammer just like in the movies.
