I stumbled upon an interesting P220. It's a P220 that is either stainless or nickel, I suspect nickel due to the weight. The original receipt is with the gun, but not the end tag on the box. The receipt indicates it's a nickel 1996 gun, and it is marked Made in Germany on the right and Exeter on the left. It appears to have a German proof mark. I'm really pleased with the gun, as it is near mint condition, with two mags and the box. The serial number begins G256, if that is of any help. It has zipper back mags.

The way to tell is whether the slide is a one-piece assembly or the earlier two-piece design with a separate pinned breech block. Judging by the serial number, your pistol almost assuredly wears a two-piece carbon steel slide indicating a nickel finish.

Thanks! I'll look at the breech block.

Does it have nickel grip screws, slide stop, take down lever and fire control parts also? I think they went from just the nickel slide like my 94 to including nickel on those parts for the two tone guns right around 95/96ish as well, on the two tone guns I mean.

Two piece slide and nickel on everything. I rarely see a gun that old in nickel with no scratches or flaking at all. This thing must have been in a safe for most of its like. It's almost too pretty to shoot.
