sigspecopsNew Ruger Mark IV
There isn’t a one button disassembly, that’s the problem. It’s a pain in the ass disassembly, and the instructions don’t help all that much. I’m not alone in this hatred.

apprenticeI bet one could just use aerosol bore scrubber and a toothbrush to clean a Ruger MK without ever field stripping it, and it would chug along just fine.

92fstechOnce you understand the positioning of the hammer strut and it's relationship to the frame pin, the gun is actually very easy to field strip and re-assemble. Most of the problems with re-assembly involve getting that hammer strut on the wrong side of the pin.

stray dogI think you're correct, getting the hammer strut and frame pin in right is the common problem. For me, getting the frame pin fully seated has always been the problem with my MK III. But that's an old-man-hand-strength-dexterity problem rather than a design issue.
I do like the MK IV one button system for that reason.

Accuracy is certainly quite "Variable" on the different versions & vintages of the Ruger "Mark" Pistols, EXCEPT that every MKII Gov't Target I've had--Total of four, still have one--Have been absolute TACK DRIVERS with decent Ammo. YMMV, of course...

rbdub474I have a MKII with the tapered 5.5" barrel that my parents gave me for Christmas in about 1987. It was my first pistol. My daughter has a MK4 22/45 with a threaded barrel and is a great suppressor host. I recently picked up a Mk4 22/45 that Maxim Defense converted to an integrally suppressed pistol. I have added a full Volquartsen trigger/action kit, a mount and a Vortex red dot since the picture. Absolutely love it!!

Mars_AttacksThe CMMG Zeroed-22 suppressor was approved today and I paired them up. This is an absolute perfect budget combo.
It's freakin Hollywood quiet with subsonic ammo.
