Another vote for the Kimber K6xs. Real sights. Six rounds.

Sorry for my error in suggesting the Colt Government Pocketlite. The DAO .380 I was thinking of was actually called the Pony Pocketlite, and it had a spurless flush DAO hammer.

You’re far from alone. Add me to the camp that wouldn't mind having a DA/SA pocket pistol option as well.

A Walther PPK 32 is about all I can think of. I have never found the tip-up barrel Beretta's (Tomcat) to be reliable. And a PPK is best fed 32, as 380 is surprisingly uncomfortable to shoot in a PPK.

I would suggest a Lipsey's 432UC in 32 H&R. Same gun you have been carrying but with a sixth round.

Used to carry the Two tone 232 as a pocket gun. It was fine in most casual pants. I did consider that flat base plates and/ or shorter slide would be better.

S&W BG 380 Gen 1 M&P hammer fired DAO is smaller and still available at very cost effective with plenty of mags at reasonable prices.

I second the Kahr PM9 - think you can get a 7rd magazine for them, so 8 rounds of 9mm at the ready

The Beretta Nano/APX Carry is pocket-sized for the most part. It’s striker fired but its trigger is really like a double action only. Simply no comparison to a Glock or P365 trigger. Mine is completely reliable.

They have 6 and 8 round magazines and it’s 9mm.

I cannot recemmend the Kahr PM9/CM9 enough

It's 9mm
It's flat
It's small
It's relatively light for a pocket gun
It's got the best and smoothest DAO trigger you ever saw out of the box

The thing is SO easy and pleasant to shoot, it really does not shoot like a small 9mm at all.

I feel 100% comfortable carrying it in my pocket as it's not a cocked striker, I think it's something like 1/4 cocked and that trigger is a good long DAO, you'd really have to screw up to have a ND with this gun IMO

I like to describe it as a flat revolver that happens to be a semi auto. As a 442 carrier you would really like this one

Size comparison here with 442:

Another one that I've pocket carried that is a true DA/SA and based kind of on the Walther PPK is the Bersa Thunder 380 CC

You'll see a lot of people shitting on Bersa and they aren't the most finely finished guns but mine ALWAYS went bang and was a complete tack driver.

I'd carry one of these any day over a PPK:

Bersa Thunder 380 CC

Here is the Bersa vs the 442, it's VERY similar in size with the benefit of being flatter:
