So I’ve had a P229-1 17 rnd mecgar mag on back order since January. Have these stopped being made? I see the new “old” style 18 rnd are available. Have these replaced the P229-1?

Back ordered, unfortunately. The 18-rounder (15+3) old style can be used, but they are not replacement for the 229-1. They are designed specifically for the P228/old P229(9) frame, not the 229-1.

I just bought both 18 and 20 round Mec Gar P226 mags. They appear to have 18 rounders for the P229.

OP is looking for the 229-1 mag, not those. Wink

I got tired of shortage and ordered a few 229-1 factory mags from Sig.

I might still have a couple of 229-1 15 round mags in a drawer around here somewhere that I don't have a use for. If you'd like I can check when I get home.
