Talking to a friend yesterday, said he was going to gun show, I asked if he's getting something or just walking through to look? He answered he needed some high capacity magazines, they don't sell them in Maryland only standard capacity magazines.
Sadly living in MD has twisted and perverted his mind so much that he thinks that specially adapted magazines that are an alteration to the original design of the manufacturer is the "Standard Capacity" and the standard ones are "High Capacity".
In my mind whatever the manufacturers design is the standard capacity mag for that gun. Maybe if you add a +2 baseplate then you could call it a high capacity?
So, did you reverse the brainwash?

Okay, ya got this one before I did. If I lived there I'd get a high capacity U-Haul.
I'll go with this one:
'Take your (Glock / Hi Power / SVI Infinity / Raven / Barrett) to the next level with...'

I pointed it out to him. He was buying standard capacity mags, the ones legal for sale in MD are reduced capacity mags. He knows better, very pro 2A, I'm pretty sure it was a slip up. It just goes to show if you repeat a lie enough people will start to believe it.
On a good note, he loves his new MPX.

Hey, I resemble this remark.

But, seriously, although annoying to some, there's a good reason for the analogy. Glass breaks cleanly, or it doesn't. There's no in between. Just like a great trigger that no discernible creep is felt before the sear "breaks" and the hammer falls.

Beat me to it. Very annoying. Or "it shoots better than I do."
It cannot shoot itself.

soggy_spinoutUm...glass bends too. There's your metaphorical 'creep'. And it can spawn slow moving stress cracks (your 'grit') before it actually breaks/shatters. Watching wind tests on pane windows systems back when I was specifying such things in my former life was illuminating. Though I never thought to equate that with firearm triggers. Thanks.

az4783054A firearm should never be referred to as a "new toy" (especially around children).

You gotta lube the trigger with Windex.

henryarnaudNot a fan of "flawless."
As in, "My Glockensigretta 1911225 ran
flawlessly through a 50-round box of Death Dealer Extreme JHP. It's going into my carry rotation as soon as I get some kit so I can deploy it tactically."

Nipper"What do I have to do to upgrade my Glock?" Usually accompanied by the remark that "I haven't shot it yet."
May also apply to other brands, but most prevalent with aforementioned.
Variations of the above include "After upgrading my Glock, it no longer works. What did I do wrong?"
Fun thread...

I disagree. The AR crowd is the worst. Glock is second place.
