Any P320 can be converted from 9mm Luger to 357 SIG or 40 S&W because the fire control units of all three versions are the same. Factory slides for 357 and 40 are somewhat different from the 9mm version and they of course use different barrels and magazines, but there should be no other difficulty in making a conversion (if the proper conversion parts can be found). ► 6.4/93.6 “ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Not only that, but you can also swap out Grip Modules with different size slides. I have the following setups I use with my Compact 9mm slide and .40 FS slides: 1) Bought a Wilson Carry Grip Module. Originally had a complete P320C 9mm and a .40 FS Exchange Kit. 2) Bought 17rd 9mm mags. Can now use same Grip Module for both slides. Just pop one slide off and replace with the other. 3) While the Carry Grip Module is shorter (length) than the FS, I actually prefer it. Has a much nicer look than the standard full length FS Grip module. Before I made this change, I had to swap the FCU from the Sig OEM Compact Grip Module to the FS module. Not a big deal, but a mild PITA. Got my P320C 9mm in 2017. At the time Sig marketing was touting that the yet to be released .45 ACP was in the mix. Unfortunately, interchangeability between 9/40/357 and .45ACP never materialized. OP, howdy y'all. Years ago, I spent time in San Antonio and San Angelo when I was in the Air Force. Preferred San Angelo, salt of the earth folks there. ______________________ An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing. --Nicholas Murray Butler

Sorry to take this to a tangent but seemed applicable to the topic at hand. Is the FCU the same for the 10mm model?

A loaded 10mm Auto round will barely fit into a 9mm/357/40 magazine well with any room to spare. I cannot imagine that when adding the thickness of the magazine tube and some tolerance room that the mag well and therefore the FCU could be the same for a 10mm pistol. I would more expect the 10mm FCU to be the same as the 45 ACP pistol’s. But someone with a 10mm P320 can probably answer for sure. ► 6.4/93.6 “ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. probably a good thing I don't have a cut |
For what it's worth, from what I have been able to figure out from watching videos on Youtube, the 10mm FCU has different parts that enable it to work with the bigger grip module and magazines for the 10mm P320. Also the length of the Ejector on the 10mm FCU is slightly shorter then the one on the 9mm/40/357 FCU to account for the longer case length of the 10mm. There is a video on Youtube of someone showing that they could use the 10mm FCU with a 9mm slide, barrel and grip module but the reverse didn't work because the takedown safety lever on the 9mm FCU interferes with the wider 10mm magazine. You could probably juggle parts around and cut down the ejector to make a 9mm FCU work with 10mm specific parts reliably but I doubt it would be worth it. Like I said, it's just my opinion based on what I've seen on Youtube or read on the internet. So my opinion might not be absolutely correct.

Correct! The X-Ten is pretty much the same size as the 45, even though it feels MUCH smaller when you hold it in your hands.
