New to the Sig forum, I just purchased this pistol and am looking for a GREAT leather holster. New to CCW and not sure if I want IWB or OWB, Leather or kydex or a combo of kydex/leather. Crossbreed? Garrett? Don Hume? Any experienced ccw that could suggest brand of leather holster?

Welcome to the forum. Depends on your style honestly. I've been a little bit of a snob when it comes to holsters and the one I've found is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's comfortable for a Kydex IWB and does it's job for my Sig without the Optic. With most holsters, I hate the sweat guard as it digs into my sides/appendix area. I shaved that down about an inch and it's a perfect fit. __________________________________________________________________________ "I've heard it said that God made all men, but Samuel Colt made all men equal."

The X-Compact is a bit of ad odd duck. It fit a P320c holster, but the holster will be about 1/2" too long and leave some empty space. The P320sc (subcompact) has the same slide length as the X-Compact but the sc had a different trigger guard so the X-Compact won't always fit. For IWB, kydex is highly recommended. I prefer Tulster brand IWB because they are simple, they keep the overall size to a minimum, and the wide clip is stable and allows easy on/off on your waistband. The leather backed hybrids with kydex shells are OK, but I find them to a be a bit of a pain to clip on/off. Personally I would only use leather OWB with a hammer fired pistol.

For IWB (which I can't do) you would want Kydex for the holster portion because it doesn't crush. I had a "Snap-Off" leather cross draw made by We Dahl at Privateer Leather. It's a work of art and the pistol snaps in almost like Kydex, but it's just well formed leather. It looks like this and it's great for driving. Does not interfere with seat belts. The red lines are mine, showing the nifty parallel lines of the stiffener panel.
