Yeah, that's a bit spendy for me.

I can get 2 30rd mp5 magazines with a coupler for around 80 bucks, and have a 10 round advantage!

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

If they work correctly in the MP5 "family" of guns, they will sell well. Magpul has a good reputation for their products. A person just "needs" a drum or two for his weapon. Glad to see them building them.

It's similar to the the AR drum vs magazine decision.

I'd rather buy 8 Magpul 40 round magazines than their drum.

Here, for $120, you can get 4-5 33 round Glock oem mags. 4 x 33 is 132 round vs 50.

...still pretty cool!

Now, if they could just build some Uzi/Colt style Garys, that would be wonderful.

1. Just as people don’t buy Patek Philippe watches because they tell time better than their iPhone or Casio, they don’t buy drum magazines for their Glocks because of their convenience and price.

2. As for why Magpul makes such magazines for Glocks, see 1, above.

In a TFB video the Magpul representative let slip it was made for PCC competition.

First and foremost the if you are a drum user/buyer etc. rock on with your bad self and I don’t care if it’s for some practical reason or simply as a Cuz’ I want it. I personally love seeing folks (safely) mag dump something like this.

That said do those of you who own these types of mags really see much use from them? I have always found them unwieldy, finicky, and a pain to load. I also typically burn far more ammo faster then I would like. (Money to noise equation).

Again this is NOT me saying these are stupid or you are a damn fool for owning/wanting them etc. etc. they don’t trip my personal trigger and that’s ok my personal trigger has nothing to do with you. I am just curious if you guys see much actual use with them.

Take care, shoot safe and rock on with your drums Smile

You know.....carrying a Glock 17 with a drum under a loose fitting shirt and simply telling folks “It’s a Tooommmaaa” in my best Ahhnold voice could be entertaining. Smile

With 9mm in scarce supply & priced unobtanium, couldn’t see too many mags dumps here..

Well, fear not, from the linked Magpul page:

Wink

Weird that it shows pistols in the video, hmmm...

Don't get me wrong, based on the video it should work, I'm just saying it's not marketed that way, which I find very strange.

From what I am seeing in the video, both the Glock and the MP5(clone) are full auto guns. I am not fluent in Glock numbers/models, but I believe that makes it a Glock 18.......correct me if I am wrong.

The Glock 18 is the select fire one from the factory, but there are adapters to convert any Glock to full-auto. We've seized a few from thugs and have test fired them. They work.

I could see one of these for my Ruger PC9. Just because..

Yeah I got the email about these from Magpul a couple of days ago. Sure they're rather expensive, just like the 5.56 and .308 PMAG drums are. But if they actually run without issue, I think my AR-9 could use one...or maybe two. Big Grin

Too late... there's not 50 rounds of 9mm left in the world.
