What the heck is Sig doing with magazines? I have an older P250C, and picked up half a dozen mags for it. They won't fit a newer 250 or 320 compact. Ok, cool, easy enough fix, I put on a SC frame. Now the Xcarry has a different base as well. Is there a reason for this madness, or is Sig just hustling expensive magazines? Personally, I'm done with the game. I have 8 21 round tacops mags and a dozen full sized, to complement my sc and compact mags. I also cut the base off the old style compact magazine. WTF?

Yeah, it can be a bit byzantine for new P320 owners... You really have to know what you're getting yourself into when buying magazines and/or grip modules, especially older used ones.

Sig is now on their third iteration of P250/320 baseplates, and cross-compatibility with various grip modules can be troublesome.

Really early (pre-2009ish) P250 grip modules used mags with baseplates that don't work with any of the later P250 grip modules or any P320 grip modules.

Baseplates on later P250/P320 mags (those made from late 2009ish up through late 2017ish) will work with most P250 and P320 grip modules, except the new X-series P320 grips and the really early P250 grips.

Recent production (2018ish) full size and extended P320 mags have slightly modified baseplates that will work with all P320 grips, including the X-series, and will also work on most P250 grips, but still won't work on the really early P250 grips.

Dear Captain,

I may have a bunch of old baseplates if they will help you out. I have a few of the old flat style P250 base pads.

The magazines are compatable all the way back. It is just the difference in base pads as the gun evolves.

Thanks, jljones, but I have resolved my issues. I used the old style P250 mags in a sub compact frame. The compacts and full sizes all have at least one proper sized mags and a couple of the 21 rounders. I originally paid 12 to 15 bucks for 250 mags, I find it frustrating that a modified base plate requires an up charge of 20 bucks, and base plates are similarly expensive if you can find them. In a few years, maybe less than a few, there will be a ton of mags on the market due to the military contract. Thanks for the offer, though.
