Icarus Xten Comp SOCOM grip

I’ve reached out to Brouwer to see when they expect theirs to hit the market. At the same time I’ve signed up for notification of availability from Icarus. Totally overpriced but also the only options so, I guess that’s that.

I don't know. I've got both an XTen and an XTen Comp and the grip is one of the things I like the most about the pistols. Already heavy, especially the 5" XTen so not sure how much of an advantage adding weight to them would be.

I won’t disagree, I do like that grip style as well.

But I enjoyed the AXG more than any polymer grip on the 9mm so I’m hopeful I can have the same luck with the Xten.

I won’t argue at all though that you may be right, the factory grip may very well turn out to be the best option. Ain’t gonna stop me from finding out though Big Grin

Just heard back from Brouwer. They will NOT be making a 10/45 frame due to the cost of a new die.

The one advantage I did think of with a heavier metal frame on the XTen is changing the balance. The 5" version is extremely nose heavy.

Is swapping base plates a required thing??

I’m curious too, with the flared mag well I’m assuming it’s for better/easier fit. But I gotta wager the factory mags still fit as is.

So they added a bunch of info to the site since you posted and I looked at it before.

Now it reads

ANY base pads not sourced from Icarus will need to be DIY modified to interface with the Icarus X10 SOCOM module

That kinda sucks. They want 50$ each for their base pads…I don’t think I can swallow that.

They do include 2 of their base pads with the grip frame.

Tracking, but I’ve got quite a few Xten mags and they wouldn’tserve much purpose without the base pads. I’ll contact Icarus and see what the modification is

They do have a how to video on their site, it’s basically trimming the sides of the base pad.
