My P227 Enhanced Elite initially came (special order) with no roll mark on the slide. Sent it in, and got it back with a slide with ELite markings. However the slide seemed too short for the frame. This was probably is a cosmetic, not a functional, problem (discussed in another thread). Sig customer service sent an RMA and took the P227 in again for inspection. They determined that the frame is the difference in length. They tried other slides, with similar rail exposure. New P227 frames are no longer available. So they offered to do an exchange for some other gun, and specifically mentioned a P220. I’m on the fence. I have a couple of 14 round mags for the P227. I originally chose the P227 over the P220 because I enjoy my P226, and the P227 E2 grip is pretty similar and I wanted the added mag capacity. But it looks like Sig has officially abandon P227 line. Maybe an unfired P227 Enhanced Elite will someday be a collectors item. I don’t Typically collect safe queens. Don’t think I have enough yearning to get their 1911. I Already have: P226R with beaver tail P226R P320 FS P320 Xfive with Romeo 1 P250 Compact and Subcompact with various grips Any recommendations? Hmmm, maybe a P210? MCX? I’m sure I would have to pay the difference in retail. Lead the Way!

Id have probably (definitely) kept the 227 sans rollmark. But i do love a good 220!! Regardless of the thinner, single-stack design, the 220 remains my second favorite 45, and will forever be so. ____________________________ While you may be able to get away with bottom shelf whiskey, stay the hell away from bottom shelf tequila. - FishOn

First, I'd try to determine if you have a rare factory version that is limited in number, or maybe that's the only one. If so, there's a collector somewhere who will "need" to have it, once they are aware of it. Otherwise, if it's not worth anything special and you don't want it, I'd certainly take them up on their offer of a trade. See if they'll do a Legion or at least a MK25 trade. Keep all of your extra mags to sell off separately. You mentioned being not quite ready for a 1911 yet, so maybe try the P226/P229 Legion SAO's?? I promise you that the trigger will make your day and under all the wrapping, it's still a Sig P226/229 in quality, reliability, etc. Heck, you've already got a head start on mags too.

I'd probably just keep the 227. I don't have a single Sig in which the slide mates properly with the back of the frame. Just looking at my P226 Legion, even that doesn't line up. It doesn't seem to affect the function of any of them, but it's really not that unusual.

Thanks for all of the useful input. Went by my local Sig super store to pet a few Sigs. Even the Legion didn’t knock me off the fence. No P210s to examine. Leaning toward welcoming the P227 back home. Lead the Way!
