Probably around 10 years ago I bought a factory threaded barrel for my SP2009. The barrel to slide fit was an issue and I would have a 50% FTF rate and 50%+ of the time it did feed the slide didn't close all the way (open about 2mm) so I'd drop the hammer on a pin that was too far from the primer. I live about 45 minutes from Sig Sauer in Exeter and always meant to bring it in to have it checked out. I didn't do it until 6 weeks ago, about the time I posted here with pictures of the new Sig Sauer Store/Experience.

An armorer at the shooting range took a look at it and told me to contact customer support to get a shipping label and have it sent in for proper inspection and repair. Fast forward to last week (procrastination is a bitch) and I contacted Sig for the warranty repair. They waived the Fedex shipping fee, sent me a shipping label within 15 minutes of the phone call and I sent it in per Sig's instructions. Sig received it on May 4th and today it is back in my hands.

I got a good chuckle out of their diagnosis: "Found tight barrel to slide fitment, excessive grease."

You can bet your ass my guns are excessively greased now that I travel to Puerto Rico for 6-12 months at a time. Regardless they cleaned the pistol, polished the feed ramp and adjusted the slide barrel bore. 75 rounds of testing and they sent it back with a clean bill of health.

It was a perfect day to hit the range so I figured why not? It's only been 5 years. That's not a typo. I haven't been to the range in 5 years. That's a long time and it shows. The good news is that I can still hit a target... stationary anyways. But my reloading needs improvement. I snagged the mag on my pocket during one reload and was off center on two others. 1/4 isn't good odds so I'll be doing some dry fire practice at night to get that sorted out.

I was pretty excited to go and in my excitement I forgot my ammo bag so I could only shoot what I had loaded in my pistol mag (not much). Next time I'll be sure to bring more ammo with me. From what I did have in 9mm, I put 10 rounds through the SigPro (suppressed). Flawless and I'm sure if I put 100 or 1000 more it would remain the same.

Overall it felt great to get out there and a HUGE shout out to Sig Sauer for an incredible experience from start to finish... on a firearm that has been out of production for quite a while.

One of my biggest regrets I have is selling a contract overrun Sig pro 2009 with a stainless slide and a safety on the slide a safety years ago. That thing was a fantastic shooter. I can’t remember what I got with the money, but it couldn’t have been that great because I can’t remember what it was. Your pistol looks to be a fine blaster!

Technically that's the SP2022 whereas I have the SP2009. According to Sig one of the reasons the threaded barrel didn't "drop in" fit was because it was designed for a SP2022 when I have the SP2009.

Nice shooting...that is a sweet range setup! I've never owned a SigPro, but I've shot them and they are indeed great shooters. Glad to hear Sig took care of you and got it running. Now just don't wait 5 years before you shoot it again Big Grin!
