These two guns are either liked or hated. There are so many posts about reliability with both and then there are as many posts about people who have no issues with them. I purchased the Ruger and took it straight to the range. Before shooting it, I took it apart and removed the rust preventative that Ruger applies, oiled it and ran 200 rds with 1 light strike on a Stinger round. I tried that round 3 more times and it did not fire. I strike that one up as a true dud. Ammo used was CCI Standard velocity, S&B 40gr SV, CCI Suppressor, Aguila 40gr SV, CCI segmented S/S, CCI Stinger, and Wolf Match. Ammo did not matter. It ran the Stingers down to the subsonic without issue. Accuracy was amazing for a gun with such a short sight radius. 8” plates at 15yds were easy. They did not always fall, but it was always a hit.

The same story applies to the Keltec PMR 30. I fired 175 through it with zero issues. It even fired the CCI 30gr polymer tipped varmint ammo without issue.
Ammo was CCI 40gr TMJ, CCI 40gr Varmint, CCI 30gr Polymer Tipped, 40gr Speer GD. Again great accuracy. I dropped a few at 25yds, but loved the trigger and sights on this gun. It pairs nicely with my CMR 30 that is also 100% reliable.

What it boils down to is, (1) Clean the gun before use. It is stupid to take a gun out of the box and just use it and not expect failures. Just because you see it on YouTube does not make it right. (2) Use recommended ammo. Firearms manufacturers print that info for a reason. (3) Read the owners manual. There is lots of important info in there. Hey I’m a guy and understand if you don’t, but sometimes it saves you some headaches.

Now, this is just my experience, and there will always be firearms that just plain do not work. Anything man made can have this issue., but some can be alleviated by a good ole cleaning before using the gun.

The PMR doesn't really do much for me, but drooling over that CMR...

The Enemy's gate is down.

PMR is a fun shooter, have the LCPII as well, carry it all the time. Thinking about the LCP Max.

Bought the CP33 but haven't taken it to the range yet. The CMR is on the list, along with a P17 once the current unpleasantness on pricing subsides.
