I don't think I've shot my 2022 in at least three or four years, usually taking a more recent purchase with me to shoot. I bought this pistol used from Gunbroker probably eight or ten years ago. I've always liked this gun and usually shoot well with it (although shooting well is relative of course). Last fall I bought a Canik TP9 Elite SC at a gun show as a spur-of-the moment purchase. It appears to be well made and nicely machined. I shoot OK with it, but only had it out once before winter and covid hit. So more recently I've been watching YT videos reviews of guns and seeing Canik's TP9SFX which is their competition ready variation. It has a 5.2 inch barrel and fiber optic front sight and is machined to accept red dot sights. These Canik TP9 pistols are polymer, striker fired guns for those who may not be familiar. The triggers on these are considered to be excellent, for striker fired pistols. I ended up getting a TP9SFX because it is a 'competition' model. I don't shoot competitively but I'm thinking that the longer barrel and whatnot may improve my shooting. Wrong. I don't shoot any better with either Canik than I do with my other 9mm pistols. Except my SIG 2022. Today I took my gen. 1 Springfield XDm and the 2022 to the range. I did OK with the XDm, actually better than I do with the Caniks, but that 2022 is the star of the show. I shot way better with it than the XD or the Caniks. I really want to like the Caniks. They're good looking pistols and the triggers are exceptional for striker fired. They could easily sell for hundreds more than they do. But so far they just don't work for me as well as that old 2022. That really is the best of my bunch.

Good choice of pistols. I have all four of those among others. They are all excellent. Like you I have had my 2022 for a while. Has been a couple of years since it has been to the range. When the ammo shortage lets up I will have to change that. If I want it... I need it !

Okay, so now I have to bust out my 2022 and take it to the range. I love that gun but haven't shot it in forever.

For those who remember the 2022 originally came out at $800. Then the French bough 50,000, thank them for something, and the price came down. Then the 250 came out and the price came down again. I used the 2022 to teach 2 people to shoot and they loved it Three people used it in their first USPSA match. A really nice gun. My son now has it in NJ. Not a fitting ending for any firearm. __________________Making Good People Helpless . . . Will Not Make Bad People Harmless!___________________

Just mobilize it |
I have a brand new 2022 sitting in the box that I need to clean and get out to the range. Picked it up for a decent price a couple years back and then just stashed it.

I bought one for $365 new and shipped about 10 yrs. ago after fondling one at SHOT. Some place in KY was blowing them out. It had problems, went back to SIG under warranty twice and then I just gave up and traded it off. Prior to that I'd had an SP2340 that was perfect. I had also traded it off, but still miss it.

NOT compromised! |
The SP series of pistols are the most UNDER RATED Sigs in the company's history. Excellent pistols in every way.
