I been wanting one of this for a long time, they are expensive but really cool and I do think that they are handy for civilian self defense tool. Which one would be a better buy?.

Question:
Which should I get?

Choices:
Zenith 5RS
B&T GHM9

Tough question. Both are good guns. I would look at the PTR 9CT as well as it has a picatinny rail welded on and comes with a little bit nicer handguard and trigger pack housing. And I say this as the owner of two Zenith/MKE MP-5s.

The GHM-9 and all B&T stuff is tremendously well made. They ooze quality. You pay for it though.

All things being equal, I probably go with the GHM9 Gen 2 for build quality, slightly more modern features, and the ability to buy a Glock mag lower for it (I think that's coming). The brace for it will be more expensive though.

There are excellent quality options that won’t be quite as pricey; AR’s if you are comfortable with the platform and then there is Scorpion. Lots of great add one for the Scorpion.

I also have a CZ Scorpion. Decently priced, over built and tons of aftermarket goodies.

I have a ghm 45 with bnt brace. (Now sbr)
I also picked up a PTR 9KT today.

Having cleaned both, the bnt hands down. Other than that they are both awesome.

I have a SBR Scorpion and really like it. I’m most likely going to put a binary trigger on it too.

We live in a great time for PCCs. They’re the only thing really interesting in the gun world to me right now because they are all different and unique looking.

I love the MP5 for what it is. Every time I sell one, I want another one. I’ve had two of the MKEs, one from when ATI imported them and one from Zenith. Both were great. There are a few things that newer designs do better, flared mag wells and bolt hold opens and the like but I still feel there’s always a place for an MP5 in the stable.

The only B&T I’ve had was the P26 and I didn’t experience the joy that a lot of people have with B&T. Mine had a lot of teething issues and I punted before I ever gave it a chance to work itself out or need to go back. That being said, it wouldn’t stop me from buying one of the other offerings from them.

The MPX is probably the softest shooter of the bunch. It feels like a .22.

Currently I am playing with a CMMG Guard and I’ve been pleased with it. AR controls, soft shooting and it takes Glock mags. It’s a great gun and makes me want more like the 5.7 one. I had an issue with it, it was going full auto but a quick call to CMMG and it was resolved without sending it back. They just sent me a new trigger pack after a quick phone call. Oh, I was also the second owner. I’ve since put in CMC 9MM trigger. It is a great gun. I’ll keep it as my main PCC but I still want to add an MP5 again.

I rented a Scorpion one time. I want to love them, I really do but it’s direct blowback action is harsh after years of shooting gas systems and delayed blowbacks like roller locks and CMMG’s Radially Delayed blowback.

Lots of options and you really can’t go wrong.
