Just wondering from anyone that owns both, it seems the external dimensions are close enough one wouldn't notice the difference. The question I have is, do you notice the weight difference of the extra rounds of the MAX over the LCP II when pocket carrying?

I carry SD ammo loaded w/ Hornady XTP 90gr. One cartridge weighs 9.4g. A US quarter weighs 5.7g. A single-stack LCP mag starts at 6 rounds. A LCP Max mag starts at 10 rounds. Depending on what grain ammo you carry, the weight of four rounds of 380ACP is comparable to the weight of 6-7 quarters. In ounces, you're looking at about 1.25-1.50oz difference. Can I tell the weight difference of seven quarters in my pocket? Yes. Does it bother me? No.

Upgraded from the LCPII to the LCP Max 380, zero difference in carry weight feel, both are super light, both fit in the same pocket holster.

I have an LCPII and decided I had to have the Max. Bought it, was completely unimpressed with how it shot (groupings) vs the LCPII and promptly sold it. I still have the LCPII. Just how it worked out for me. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

To me the Max shoots easier maybe because the grip is larger with the higher capacity mags. Only noticeable difference IMO.

Thanks guys, I bought a MAX today. Is there a pocket holster that's better than the one that Ruger gives you with it? Best place to buy 12 round magazines for it?

That rug really tied the room together. |
I have two LCP version one pistols and a Max pistol. I carried the Max... for about a month or two I reckon. Retired it back into the safe and continue to carry my ancient version one LCP, which I prefer. 7 rounds plus a spare 6, in a smaller package, works for me. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

I upgraded to the Max from the P380 for use in Non Permissive environments. Doubled my capacity & Carry it IWB. Forget it’s there most times ______________________________________________ Life is short. It’s shorter with the wrong gun…

I replaced my LCP 2 with the max and the difference in weight is barely noticeable. Once you start carrying it you'll never know the difference. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain

I really like these for pocket carry. Round cut, depending on pocket type. https://mikaspocketholsters.com/

I had the LCP II and like the LCP MAX much better; the weight difference is pretty minor and it feels like an LCP II with a Hogue grip. Totally worth it IMHO.

They're $329 now. I paid $379 "on sale" at Bass Pro, but by the time I pay the transfer fees and shipping on the PSA one it would've come close.
