I’ve always been partial to the early P220s and the P75s remain a grail gun. Great to see one pop up down under!

A question for you - from what you can tell from the picture, is it a genuine and legit P75? I'm a bit concerned about your comment "The frame in the OPs photo is a standard P220 frame"

All details are correct for a P75. There is nothing to worry about.

There was only one frame type used back then. This was the "one size fits all" P220 frame used in both commercial and Swiss Army contract pistols.

The only difference between the two is the patter of the serial number and its placement. The frame type is correct, so is the serial number and its placement. Nothing to worry about.

From what I understand the Swiss Border Guard may of updated their pistols from the P-75 but the Swiss Army still has the P-75 in service for almost 50 years. Maybe Classic12 has some insight as to what is currently going on in Switzerland.

I've stumbled across a genuine SIG P75 for sale here in Australia.

Do many of the genuine SIG P75s make it out of Switzerland for sale elsewhere?

This is pretty damn unusual to find one here - your US gun shops are probably overflowing with them !

I've literally never seen one. Thanks so much for sharing the pic!

Thought I would share my early girl with a 1975 green holster, a 1977 spare mag holder with a type 2 magazine along with a pack of 1979 ammo. I love her humps and bumps and cute pinch nose.

The Swiss Border Police transferred form the Pistol 75 to the HK P30 a couple of years ago. The replaced pistols have been offered for sale to their former owners. Few made it to the commercial market.

The Swiss Army Pistol 75 (SIGSauer 9mm P220) is still general issue and will be for the next future. There´s still plenty of pistols in depots as a result form resizing the military to its acutal size. Until this inventory is coming to a critical size, there will be no need for a general issue type pistol.

There is also the SIG SP 2009 (Pistole 03) and the Glock G17 and G26 (Pistole 12 and 15) in the inventory of the depots of Swiss Army. These pistols are special issue and don’t stay with the individual. These pistols will be issued at the beginning of the turn of the unit and return to the depots at the end of the turn, like SMG (HK MP5), Shotguns (Rem.870), GPMGs (FN Minimi, W+F MG55) etc. Units to wich the Glocks are issued are: Long Range Reconnaissance, Military Security or units with comparable assignements.

UDO excellent photo of your early P-75 and matching green holster mag pouch with mag & ammo. I was fortunate to purchase a green holster, magazine and mag pouch from Switzerland, now all I need is the big prize a P-75.
