Looks like this particular gun is in the new 2020 catalog (minus the FDE variant). Think SIG will continue to keep this gun in their lineup for the foreseeable future or are it's days numbered?

No way to tell really. It is definitely a sleeper gun and underappreciated. It would be a shame to remove it entirely from the line up.

I believe the reason it’s called the SP2022 is because the French Gendarmerie have a contract with SIG to produce the SIG Pro as their duty pistol through 2022. So I would expect them to continue civilian sales at least through that time frame.

Then again, it is SIG and they are known for discontinuing models often, and without warning. Basically, as patw says, no way to tell, really. But I would hope, at least, that the French contract adds a bit of lifespan to the series. I'd like to own one some day, but it's pretty far down on the priority list for now.

^^ Honestly, you may be better off shopping on the basis of price rather than priority. Every now and again some pop up priced rather cheaply, and they're cheap enough that buying one won't delay you much in picking up something else. I think the same probably holds true for mags as well.

Sig will continue it - it's on the MA and CA compliant roster.

Depending where you shop, the FDE version is generally more expensive than the black version.

Do I think so, no. Its not a big seller and sig discontinues those all the time. Does the French contract affect the US? I doubt it. Does SIG think about the rosters? I doubt it.
But nobody is able to predict Sig behavior in any rational way.

As of last year, SIG claimed that the gun was going to be around for a while because it was priced to be their entry level gun. A couple of years ago they discussed doing an upgrade as such.

I think people wring their hands over stuff like this a little too much

Of all the DA/SA Sigs at my LGS. The SP2022’s move the quickest.

If I remember correctly when it first came out it was a $800 gun. Then the French ordered 50,000 and the price dropped. The French have since changed guns. Then I believe Sig came out with the 250 and the price dropped again. However the SP2022 is still the same fine gun and well worth the price.

It does figure prominently in many French TV shows and movies (this is from "Julie Lescaut"):
