Just curious. Can the Springfield XD trigger be made to feel as crisp as a Glock trigger with a Ghost Tactical disconnector?

I thought the trigger on the original XD was pretty bad. A lot of take up. I've shot some XDms that had trigger work and made me think I could get a better one in the xd. I put in a powder river precision kit, I think it was the ultimate match.

It did make the trigger better. Noticably reduced pre-travel and over travel as advertised. Since doing that upgrade I've shot a few magazines through it, and a few thousand rounds through my Glock 19 with a bone stock trigger. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't waste the money on the Xd.

I had one of these in my XD9 subcompact.

PRP® Drop-In Trigger Kit for Original XD Models

It sure didn't cost that much over 10 years ago.. Eek

It did clean up the slop and spongeiness of the trigger.
Although, I ultimately sold all my XD pistols and bought Glocks..

PRP has a couple of other trigger options as well.
They only fit original XD pistols,

XD

Good luck.

XD9 was the first striker fired gun I ever bought. On paper, it seemed to me to do everything a Glock did but better and also cost less.

I got a G19.5 in late 2017, a few months after Gen5 was introduced. It was my first Glock. I became a convert and joined the "You will buy a Glock" thread.

Yes, I bought into the XD hype.
I had only owned a G26 at the time.

I had the XD9sc, an XD9, and an XD45.
Nice guns but that spongy trigger was not to my liking..

I agree. Something about the trigger never jibed well with me. I tried changing some springs but it never felt right to me, sadly.

There is just something about the grip angle/design also, that feels really good in the hand. I have owned a few types of them over the years, at different times as I wanted to like them. They work perfectly but I can't shoot them well due to what I assume for me is with the trigger mechanism.

I have never shot the XD well, and I don't know why. My BIL has an XDS, which is a great little gun but I just can't hit the broad side of a barn with it whenever we go shoot together. I'm sure the problem is me and I could figure it out with a little bit of effort, but it's just not something I need bad enough to try.

A buddy of mine has an original XD 9mm that he sent to the Springfield Custom Shop for an action job back when they used to do that sort of thing. It has one of the nicest striker triggers I've ever shot. I don't know what they did...I'm assuming primarily a polish job. But whatever it was, it worked. I still can't shoot the thing worth a crap, but the trigger sure is nice.
