It’s not the heavy pull that makes it hurt but the geometry of the trigger and how close it is to the trigger guard. Just like almost any pivoting trigger, it forces my finger down to the bottom and pinches the meat of my finger between the trigger and the guard. Does anybody else have this problem, and/or a solution? I know there’s not a ton of options for the P6. I’d really like to keep this one but the pain keeps her in the safe.
I've had the same problem, and come to love the 225A1 for not having it.
There's a potential answer that may be an easy fix. Unload the pistol, hold it as you normally would when firing it - with your finger on the trigger - and then look at your trigger finger. If it's slanted across the trigger (up on the right to down on the left for right handers, I would think). The degree to which it is slanted would, of course, get a bit worse the further back you pull the trigger.
If it looks like that's the problem, then try holding it with your trigger finger so that its more at right angles (crossways) to the trigger. If you can comfortably complete the trigger stroke that way then you may be removing that part of your finger from the place where it gets pinched by simply raising it a little bit.
The second option is to get a different trigger. I tried that some years ago and it seemed to help except that the trigger didn't quite work properly for some other reason that I don't recall now. I guess I need to get back to it to fully resolve the problem.

I don’t have large hands so repositioning the finger isn’t really an option. Side note: When I heard the P225 A1 was coming out I was pretty happy. Until i saw the price on that single stack 9mm and laughed my ass off. I knew that was gonna be short lived.
Try a p225/p6 short trigger vs the standard trigger. As the short trigger face is further back than the standard trigger, it may alleviate the finger pinching for you.

This is a good idea. The short trigger has a more aggressive curve and may work to keep your finger off the trigger guard. I personally hate them because I have long fingers, but everybody's hands are different.
I never had a problem with pinching on my P6, but I did put a Grayguns hammer strut and spring in it to make the trigger more manageable. The factory pull-weight is horrendous.

Handled a P6 many years ago in a gun shop and found this to be my issue as well. The pinch kept me from buying it. Never looked back as I just filled the void with 228’s, 229’s, and 239’s.
