I just succumbed to the Dark Side and bought a black FN FNX45 Tactical with a Vortex reddot on it. This is the first timeI have shot a Reddot on a pistol. The gun shoots great and ate all ammo fed to it, I think its going to be a good one. I like the 15 plus 1 capacity and the double action worked well, although a little gritty. Its actually not a really big gun compared to my P226 Tacops.

I have reservations about this Vortex optic design , I have to remove it to loosen the lock screws since its got suppressor height sights behind it. Looks like I need to find a better reddot setup for it. Any suggestions on that??

I traded into an FNP-45 Tactical a few years ago.
Works great with my Silencerco Octane 45.
I would like to add an optic at some point.

I love my FNX .45 Tactical. I carried it for years as a duty gun, which included SWAT. Countless rounds through it, and I never had a failure to fire. Whether I was running the Blue Box Lawman .45 FMJ or Gold Dot, it runs it all. The double action sucks on that pistol, but I just keep it in SA which has a great trigger. I never had an issue with the melting grip issue you see on You Tube. Perhaps that was fixed prior to me getting mine. I think it's a great hand gun.
