I thought I waited too long and missed out on Palmetto’s pretty fair deal on the non railed stainless framed & optic ready 92X. The railed version is ok but just doesn’t excite me as much as the classic looking non rail variant. Well as luck would have it I kept periodically checking their website and BOOM it came back in stock!!

I bought the same model (I hate rails) and shot it for the first time Saturday.
It shoots every bit as good as it looks!

That pistol is bringing sexy back.

It's not stainless steel but stronger carbon steel with a Nistan nickel plating. The 92X Performance Defensive is great...I snagged one right before the rebate started but at a great price.

If you want to make it really sweet, swap in an LTT reduced reset trigger bar for $60. It's a little trickier to install with the frame safety but worth the effort.

Just to see how it would look....I swapped the slide from mine on a SAO and frame-safety converted "unicorn" lower (straight dust cover and upper grip relief which were transitional features in the late 90's):

Just FYI in case you're not aware, your FFL is req'd to file out/file an ATF Form 3310.4 to report of Multiple Sales/Transfers of Handguns that occur either at one time, OR during five consecutive business days. The form is sent to the ATF National Tracing Center and includes much of the info from the 4473 including the Model & Serial # data of the firearms in question. Some prefer to avoid such data collection by the ATF...Just sayin'
