I have been looking to get some wood grips for my Beretta 950bs pistols. Beretta no longer has any. Have found some Altamont grips that look good and the reviews seem positive. Was wondering if any members have first hand experience, if so I would appreciate their opinion. ThanksThis message has been edited. Last edited by: molachi,

I am a fan of their work. The grips I have gotten from them are great.

I've used Altamonts on 1911's and a Victory .22lr. The fit and finished have always been very good or better.

Altamont grips are good, for mass-produced factory grips. Not as nice as custom wood grips, but also much cheaper.

I agree and have also noted that mine have required some minor fitting to really look good, otherwise the gaps are pretty noticeable.

I’ve had several for 1911’s and Hi-Powers, all nice looking and fitting. They were producing Colt’s oem 1911 grips, may still be doing so...This message has been edited. Last edited by: kokopelli,

I bought a few sets of their Hi-Power grips. They’re thin, which fit my hand better.
Nice product for the price. I just wish they offered a few more options like full checkering.

Altamont is pretty decent. I have bought some grip sets from them over the years that required a little tinkering to make a good fit. But it was very minor. And the grips were good looking and priced right.

In my opinion, Altamont makes excellent grips AND has superior customer service. I have two special order grip sets from them, and the fit and finish and checkering is excellent. Both sets use standard length grip screws. It is my understanding that they used to be the grip supplier for Smith & Wesson, but I don't know if that is true.

Thanks for the tip. It appears as though the grips I want are not in stock at this time. Guess I'll send them an email and ask about them.

I love Altamont grips! I've ordered three pair from them and they are all terrific.

Contacted Altamont. No idea when any more 950bs wood grips will be made. However I am now on the contact list in case they decide to make some.

I recently saw a set of Black Micarta grips for a Ruger Single Seven Bisley. Couldn't find them on their site, they asked if I wanted be on the "notify list", that'll work.

Guys, please be more specific in your title. Putting "question" isn't a descriptive, questions are one of the primary reasons people post threads.

These grips are made for the 950, in the advertisement, it states you would have to relieve the safety cutout for it to work on the 950bs. If you can't find another source for wood grips, this may be an option.
I have 3 sets of their grips, the quality is excellent, and the owner stands by his product . And will work with you to solve any fitment issues.

Good luck.
Thanks for the info. Just not sure I want to try modifying the grip for the safety. I guess I could just take the safety off, but not sure if I want to do that.
