I recently ordered a Sig P226 Legion and hope to have it next week. I have a two tone P365 that is my EDC. I’m now looking at a range pistol and have been looking at a Sig Legion X5 to go with my 226. Just today I ran across some reviews on the P210 and was very impressed. The thought of a steel and wood target pistol with a good trigger sounds very interesting. Thoughts on comparing these 2 pistols for range use is very much appreciated! Thanks!

It's all personal preference, of course, but I'm pretty stoked about the P210 standard. I just placed an order myself. Part of what pushed me over the edge were these 50 yard Ransom Rest results (from the mechanically identical target model): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G-5fLQKBP8 and this fairly enthusiastic review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5fU_A-BvVk Basic use case for me will be a high accuracy, long-range field pistol that I'm not afraid to take camping -- plinking, small game, etc. More or less a "big 22." The concept of having my Swiss-made version with me in a wet tent is completely horrifying and unthinkable, but stainless/nitron and a price less than 2x a Glock has me all wound up.

I've had one of the US made P210As for a couple years now. I think the Legion X5 is likely better for most uses, but the 210A is without doubt a worthy pistol for range use, where accuracy might be the deciding factor. Not knocking the Legion X-5, but within my experience, single action pistols are easier to shoot accurately. The 210A has a very precise barrel/slide/frame fit (there is just no play at all between slide/barrel/frame in battery), and the triggers average about 3 1/2#. The 210A could be pressed into service for carry and/or competition, though other pistols might be more practical for those purposes due to lighter weight, greater magazine capacity,etc..... Purchased a P210A Standard last October when a local brick and mortar store was having a sale on SIG pistols. In my opinion this is the best of twelve SIG pistols I have purchased over the years. No idea how it actually compares to the originals or Legends but taken on it's own merit it is one nice shooting pistol. I like it enough that I recently purchased a 2nd one at the dealers normal retail price and it is the only pistol that I have ever owned two identical models of at the same time. ----------------------------------- Regards, Steve The anticipation is often greater than the actual reward

FWIW the standard is gone from the 2020 catalog. I don't know if there are some in the distribution channel. The P210 is a great range gun. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

The P210 Standard is still listed on the SIG website. ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1

If you go to the 2020 catalog, also posted on the sig website, it is gone. I'm pretty sure like most vendors sig has a gap on maintaining its website to be current. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Well that sucks. If they’ve actually stopped carrying the Standard it makes me wonder how much longer they’ll carry the Target. ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1

PowerSurge, The way SIG pistols come and go, I would not be at all surprised if all the 210A models were gone in 2 or 3 years. Maybe sooner, you just never know with SIG... NRA Life

It is explicitly listed as "discontinued" at Brownells as well. This is basically why I jumped on a Standard now rather than later.
