My Glock G20 is over 20 years old. It is my house pistol. Usually only 200 -300 rounds fired each year. I have replaced the recoil spring assy. a couple times. No issues, goes bang each trigger pull. I am considering several new 10mm pistols. New G20, New SIG320 -X10 Comp, FN -510 MRD.Or possibly send the G 20 to Glock for a refresh? I know this is a rather subjective question, but would appreciate, some input from the SIGforum brain- trust who have experience with the 320 X-Ten and FN 510 Vs the G20. Thanks for your helpful input and info !

Being 20 years old, but shot relatively little, you haven't worn out anything, but it would be worth it to replace any parts that have been found vulnerable with the upgraded ones (if applicable).

You already have the best why change things up now. If yours doesn't have a rail for a light or a slide cut for an optic and you want those then by all means upgrade but personally I would stick with Glock and the G20.

I swear I had something for this |
I can't stand the regular Glock grip and that goes double for the G20 and G21. If you want a mild upgrade, pop your slide off and put it on one of these: https://lonewolfdist.com/twl-l...extured-frame-built/

I believe the G 20 is an early Gen 3 with a rail purchased late 2003 / early 2004. I won't be abandoning it, just a hankering for something new and different with maybe a red dot for my old ass eyes,

New 10mm or refurbish existing G20? Yes! They are allegedly releasing an all stainless P320 for the 9mm crowd. Maybe hold off until (never) they make a large frame version? The P220 in 10mm may become your favorite as well.

My shooting buddy has a new G20 with a red dot. I am not really a Glock fan, but both of us old farts can shoot a fist sized group at 25 yds with it. As I age, a red dot makes a lot more sense to me.

If you are happy with the G20 platform, then I would stick with it. I don't have any experience with the FN, but I've shot the P320 10mm and it shoots fine, but I can't see changing to a new platform if you are happy with the G20. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

I'm not a Glock fan boy, but they have been doing the 10mm consistently for a long time. Plus, yours is a known performer. I'd contact Glock and see what they recomend. it'll probably be a couple springs and other small parts.

In reality, no more than I shoot the G20, it will certainly provide me with many more years of home protection, with a minor tune up.At 70 years young I have some arthritis issues in my wrists and thumbs. After a range session of 100 rds with real 10mm ammo they are talking to me! But is comforting to know you have The Hammer Of Thor available if needed !

If you want a new pistol and can afford it, buy it, but, based upon what you've told us, you will be fine with your G20.

I'd refurbish / upgrade the Glock you have. The simplicity of a 10mm Glock is hard to beat in the bush. Not much can go wrong, it always goes bang. Mine is the 29 version which is easier for me to quickly reach backpacking or hiking. Love my 1911s but the Glock is a surer bet in outback. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

Adding another Glock 20 would be my first choice, but the temptation to add a Glock 29 or a Glock 40 to the 10mm collection would make the choice that much harder. Hater of fun since 2001!

One inexpensive option is to change the grip texture by adding a self-adhesive grip from Talon, or my current favorite, Combat Textiles, which uses Cordura fabric available in a range of colors. When you consider alternatives to the Glock, the Springfield Armory XD is getting good reviews. One issue to think about what ammo you want to use. Some alternatives seem to have issues with dangerous game bullets (Underwood, etc.).

That’s the one I went with over the Sig P320 XTen. I liked having the manual safety levers and the built in comp.

Based on my experience with a 4" M&P 10mm, no way in hell would I recommend one. 2 trips back to the factory, replaced guide rod and spring assembly with Galloway Precision unit, replaced extractor with Apex, tried both Wolff and Springer Precision extra power magazine springs and it still was not reliable. I now have both a P320-XTEN and a P320-XTEN COMP and I'm super happy with both of those. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

I'd refurbish the G20. However, behold the excess of goodness that is the Model G40, the long slide version! https://us.glock.com/en/pistols/g40-gen4-mos This thing is so fun to shoot! So much so, I'm hoping they release a Gen 5 model. Do not send me to a heaven where there are no dogs. Step Up or Stand Aside: Support the Troops ! I have always been a fan of the 10mm Glocks. Had them all. But I picked up my first Springfield Armory a few weeks ago. I got the 10mm Ronin. Its awesome. 400 rounds later it has been perfect with 4 different types of ammo. Real accurate. I say refurbish your 20, and then buy another 10 as well. Can't have too much 10mm
