Well I’ve made the mistake of researching these and now I want one. I’ve got a couple of pieces I’m flipping to help fund it. Just looking for validation I guess from those that have the new HD line that uses Glock pattern mags. Muchas gracias.

That looks like a cool little gun, and I think it's a brilliant move by Stacatto to go with Glock mags for the HD line and Sig choosing P320 mags for the P211. I think you need to get it because it's the practical choice .

Looking forward to your range report!
Thanks man, that seals it! Lol

I wish there was something I can say to poo poo this gun, but besides the price and you'll need to buy the correct spacer plate if you mount an optic, it's enough of a home run that Staccato killed the C and the CS. They fixed the problem of the pinned rear sight coming off, they've got the safeties blended so there's no hot spots, and unlike at launch the spacer plates are available now instead of a month later.

That they did, after I punched the pin out, it still would not come out. I tried pliers, vice grips, I stuck it in a vise and tried. I ended up firing six mags to warm up the gun then smacked the sight hard against a door way to get it out.
It works fine with my Glock OEM, Magpul and MecGar Glock mags. I actually bought a Dawson optic plate that moves the rear sight to the back which is how I like it. Took forever to punch the original rear sight out. When I got it, we cleaned it, lubed it, then shot it alot. Let me see if I can find the list I posted somewhere else:
I have the following lined up to test: 200 rds Federal 147gr FMJ 200 rds Speer 124gr TMJ 200 rds Winchester 124gr nato fmj 100 rds Federal 147gr HST 100 rds Speer G2 147gr 100 rds Speer 124gr gold dot +P 50 rds Hornady 135gr critical duty 50 rds Hornady 135gr critical duty +P plan is to clean and lube before each brand of ammo.
I stuck my TLR1HLX on it. I had to switch it to the 1913-2 key. It fits.

this is what the hole looks like now. Nothing goes into the gun itself. It's just a pocket to collect belly button lint now.

Thanks for that Chowser. Have you got a link to that Dawson plate that moves the rear sight? I looked but didn’t see it. Thanks for the post

Having shot a 4” HD, I say you made a good choice!
Enjoy!

I chose the half serrations. they only have it for the RMR at this time.
Damn, I didn't realize they discontinued the C and CS pistols. I love my CS, picked it up about a month ago. Bought it used with the RMR HD mounted.
I've been debating another CS or the HD, I guess this makes the decision for me.

My mags from GregCoteLLC arrived. I moved the +2 baseplates over to the 15 rd mags. It feels better now with the magwell.

I wanted a CS but the lack of a swappable mag release is an issue on a carry pistols as all my other carry guns are swapped. I have a Staccato P for range use only.
It is hard for me to buy a 1911 with a Series 80 FPS. Sometimes they can be almost as good as a Series 70 but other times they can suck. Either you do all the crunch before a crisp let off, or crisp letoff and all the crunch in the overtravel. Having the letoff in the middle of the crunch sucks.
The HD's I've looked at have not been really consistent in this manner. Most are good, but not $2000+ 1911 good. Admittedly it's a need for most LE agencies so it's necessary evil. I'd much rather carry an HD than a Glock if I had to.
Of course you can always remove the Series 80 bits, but then that's modifying a safety feature which I would rather not do in a carry pistol.
If the mag release is swapable on HD (can you confirm) I will keep my mind open about the Series 80 and just look for a "good" one with a trigger I like.

the mag release is reversible.
Unless you have a CA compliant gun, then that is not reversible.
If reversing it and using Glock OEM mags, make sure the mags are newer gen.

The CA variant is reversible for left handed shooters but it has to be shipped to CA for right handed shooters. Due to the stupid Roster rules.
Once you take ownership of the gun you can order from Staccato a left handed mag release and install with no legal worries.
I'm actually tempted to buy one since it takes Glock 19 magazines and I have a ton of them, but the price tag for a CCW gun and limited to 10 rounds if I carry it seems like a waste.
Could be the ultimate bedside gun. The 4.0 HD was really nice when I handled one in the store.

My buddy just got an HD 4". We shot it when we went to pick it up. He had them add a Holosun 508T. Staccato give first responders 20% off but they give a straight $800 off the HD 4 and 4.5. That is why he got the 4.
I really like the 3.6 but $800 off is too much to ignore. I have thought of off loading a couple of my pistols to fund one. I haven't decided yet. But, I figure if I do, it'll be the gun that I carry and shoot all of the time so I might as well flip a couple.

I feel fortunate that Staccato is giving me 10% off for having been a paramedic, haven’t done that since injuring my back so badly. I’m such small potatoes of a FFL I wasn’t going to try and get a dealer discount. They did however waive sales tax with my permit. That’s almost 20% off combined! They were extremely helpful and kind on the phone.

Local RangeUSA said they got an HD 3.6 in but sold it almost immeidately. They have a CS in stock they pulled in from another store.. I really do like the CS and I have an RMRcc that would go perfectly on it. Even have the plate already as I tried it on my Staccato P.
The CS they have has the older 16 round mags, but Staccato changed them to 15 round mags in the last year or so due to some reliability issue of some sort. Anyone know what the difference is?

No idea on that, I’d be guessing. All I can say, from what little interaction I’ve had with Staccato so far, is that they are a top notch outfit. Stellar CS, you’re getting what you pay for. I ordered the 3.6 HD moments ago after flipping 2 personal handguns. I’m a touch excited!
