If you are considering buying a pistol to defend the lives of yourself and your loved ones with, I think there are numerous better choices than a somewhat bulky .32acp with no extractor.

I owned one of the early ones. It was a neat pistol, but not something I'd consider a practical first choice for defensive use. At the time I believed all my handguns had to have a defined purpose and I traded it away. Now I wish I'd kept it just because it was a neat little pistol. If I was looking for something for serious use however, there are much better, more reliable, and more durable options in more serious calibers in roughly the same size factor. If I needed super small I'd go LCP all day. The Tomcat, especially the later ones, was fairly chunky. If you could hide it, you could hide a PM9, LC9, or Glock 43 without significant extra effort.
