The Pro-cut slides say they are only compatible with -1 frames, which my WG frame is definitely not since it takes P228 mags. What is the difference and is there anything I can do to make them compatible?
OK, several years ago, I made a FrankenSIG from a M11-A1 upper on a P228R German frame. The M11-A1 is just another P229-1 (long external extractor slide and non-rail 229-1 frame). And, the P228R simply used the railed frame of the old P229(9). So, I don't see any reasons why the P229 Pro upper, which is just a long external extractor P229 slide with holes, will not work on your old German P229R frame. Real life West German P229 does not exist, btw.

If it helps, I swapped a pro cut slide onto a German P226 KF date code frame. The only noticeable difference between the original slide and the pro cut was lateral movement of the pro cut slide.
