New to me P226
Hey with all of the LEO trade-in P226/P229 I decided to pick myself up one.

LGS sold me a P226 DAK with mag and Sig branded case for $379. So a decent price compared to Aim surplus near me. Actually had my integrity tested a little during the transaction as the register accidentally ran the transaction as a FFL transfer, so could of got a the pistol for about $50, but couldn't let it go so had correct the issue!

Great looking P226 example. Came in 40 S&W, which is a caliber I enjoy to shoot, a DAK, and E2 grip. This will be my first DAK as have only owned DA/SA in the past. Actually not a bad trigger if you fully reset the trigger, but might convert it in the future. The E2 grip is a little small in my hands, also my grip is fairly worn - was and easy fix with some athletic tape to fill out the grip and cover up the worn grip texture.

If I make the conversion to DA/SA, what is the recommended trigger setup? Looks like Sig offers SRT, Grayguns also offers that along with new trigger/trigger bar and strut/spring, or maybe a super strut? What does everyone else run? Mainly just want to perfect the trigger pull but still keep it more of a carry gun/trigger.

Appreciate any advice!

Replace it with one the Hogue G10 grips in Checkered, Piranha or Chainlink pattern, and you will be please with the "grippiness".

Everyone has their own want. Personally, I would just leave the stock trigger as is, if it's the old fat trigger. But if it's the skinny (aka short reach) trigger, then I would ditch it for the fat one. And, replace the old main spring system with the Super Strut System either from The Sig Armorer or from GrayGuns. That's just me.

Appreciate the suggestions! I'll check them out. On my old P229 that I sold awhile back it had rosewood grips that were from Sig Sauer, are those still around anywhere?

Yeah it's the fat trigger, I'll check out the super strut thanks. Is the SRT worth it? Never had one on previous Sigs.

If I want really short reset, then I would go with The Sig Armorer's QTR system, which has shorter reset than SIG's SRT. It's been a while since I checked, iirc, they cost the same, but I could be wrong though.
