I'm wondering if anybody here has, or knows anything about some stainless integral rail 4566TSWs being made?

Any West coast LE using them? Thanks! Regards 18DAI

I don’t remember the model, but yes a year or two back I remember a NEW batch of 3rd gen smiths going to some dept. I don’t specifically remember if they were .45s but they did have the integral rail.

Haven’t heard of a new run but if there is I’m in. After I cashed out on this one

I regretted it so I jumped at one of the WVSP models. I do like the bobbed hammer and reinforced rail area better on this one. Oh and the Melonite finish too.

Oooooo, I like. I got one of the all stainless CHP 9mm turn ins and I love it. Heavier than a brick but I need the exercise.

Edit: pulled it out. It’s a 40

Didn't Cabela's get a limited run of 3rd Gen Smiths a couple years ago? Thought they were police overrun guns, can't remember what model they were though.

Love that WVSP one, nice.

Ceptor 781 any detail on the stainless one that you recall? Product code, serial prefix? A guy on another board found one of these. His is a Fresno PD Commerorative. But it has the integral rail and he is looking for details.

I found that there was a batch made for sales samples back in 2007. BEM serial prefix. These predate the WVSP Melonite guns by several years.

Thanks all for the assistance, info and the pic! Regards 18DAI

I don’t know the particulars on the stainless 4566TSW. The sales sample thing sounds familiar though. I do recall that I had to really coax the prior owner to give it up. Here’s a shot of the label, hope it helps.

And here’s an old integral rail family shot. The top is the 4566TSW above, middle is an early CHP4006TSW and the bottom is a 5906TSW that was supposedly a Canadian LEO sample of sort. And the non-rail is a 4026. Alas all are gone as I foolishly sold them after my 4563CQB shed a frame rail and I swore of S&W 3rd gens for a bit.

Thanks very much Ceptor 781! I will give him the product code. Perhaps he can gain more info from CS with that. Much appreciated! Smile Best regards, 18DAI
