tons of fun. Actually that should be my shooting sports nickname. LOL

UML "Heavy Metal Optics" is the only heavy division and it's basically tac ops or limited but with a .30-cal rifle, so I shot my SIG P226 so I would only have to worry about picking up my .30-'06 brass and clips.

The P224 slide lock lever has solved my problems with failure to lock empty, but pretty much requires a power stroke method to drop the slide (although I did manage to find the lever during one reload).

Anyway, video here for any interested.

Interesting that you shoot your handgun right-handed but your rifle lefty.

And I saw you reach up on your shirt for a Garand clip on one of those pistol reloads! Big Grin

I shot a friend's Garand once and really liked it. I'd like to get one some day.

Very cool! I imagined a soldier in WW2 to fighting block to block, house to house in an urban environment with such a beast!

Nice shooting. Is that M1 Garand a H&R production?

You know those M1 Grands can reach out quite well to 500 yards.

This one is a Springfield. Last match we had steel out to 400 yards and I was clanging everything. This time I had trouble.

Got a friend that is GM in some classes that is a ledty that shoots righty because that's how dad and brothers shot. I'm pretty sure he's right eye dominant too.

Enjoyed your video ,hope you was able to get you brass and clips.
If so now comes the work of the brass, and that takes several steps and time.
I use a home made trimming debur, chaffer champer thingy.Handles those steps as in one handling
then to the 550 Dillon.

We shot 3 gun July 7 in Central Ohio, my son shot heavy metal with his M1 Garand, a Sig P220 and a Mossberg 500A for fun. The shotgun was our handicap (besides ourselves) but we had a blast. This was our last shoot before he went off to be a Cav Scout.

by my count I only lost four pieces of brass. That's assuming that I found all my clips. I'm pretty sure I did it. Everybody is usually really good at helping pick up clips and brass for me. I have a three-way cutter head on my RCBS trimmer. That saves a couple of steps but it is still a long and arduous process to prepare brass for semi auto rifles with a potential for slam fire. I check each piece of brass with a case headspace gauge and for length, and for incipient separation. Lots of time and work.

that's awesome. I preferred heavy-metal division when they used to require you to you shoot a 45 caliber pistol and a 12 gauge pump shotgun. They nerfed it to get more people shooting I guess. Now you can use the same pistols and shotguns as other divisions.
