Has anyone seen any major increases in accuracy with the Glock 48 over the 43x? Reason I ask is, I am debating on what to do here. Option 1: Send my Glock 48 Slide off to Jagerworks and have have it milled for the new Holoson 407k being released this month. Will need a refinish as well, thinking either black or tungsten. Option 2: Buy either a Glock 43x or Glock 43 slide that is milled or send one off to get milled, threaded barrel and comp it. My spidey sense tells me that the longer 48 barrel will have more accuracy, but were talking about weapon that will never be used past 25 yards max, unless I'm in a pretty awful situation. Will the difference in barrel length really matter? The attached picture is the stock Glock 48 from 10 yards free standing slow controlled fire with different loads. The left center target is actually Monarch 115 grain Brass Cased FMJ. It's pretty damn accurate with irons with every load, but the Monarch seems to really like this barrel. That, or it was such a low recoil load my fundamentals improved? I've always wanted to comp a handgun, but not sure if there will be any benefit to doing it on a small weapon platform such as the 43/43x. Then there is the reliability issue with doing this. Either way, the 48 will have an MRDS on it. More than likely the 407k as I have already ordered it and just awaiting shipment. I ended up going with the Romeo Zero on my P365XL and am pretty happy with it as is now. Thanks in advance

For real? |
We found no accuracy differences between our 48s and 43xs with multiple shooters up to 25 yards (our range is 80 feet). It's the shooter more than the gun. Not minority enough!

I have both the 43X and 48. It would take a better shooter than me to tell if there's a difference in accuracy, but I'd be inclined to say no, there isn't.

I don’t think there is any material difference from what I can tell but I slightly prefer the feel of the 48...though if deciding to add an optic I could be happy with either upper. The 48 is quickly becoming a favorite and I’m also strongly considering an optic.

Since you’re talking about a red dot on both, the longer sight radius on the 48 will be nullified by the addition of the red dot and the 43 or 43X will be easier to conceal due to its smaller dimensions. My vote is 43X.

I swear I had something for this |
My only thing with doing the 48 is at that barrel length, there's a lot more hollowpoints you can choose from there might not expand properly with the smaller barrel of the 43x. Take a look at Lucky Gunner's stuff and Shootingthebull410 on YouTube in regards to good short barrel loads.

My own experience: my accuracy is not appreciably different shooting a G48 vs a G43 or G43X. My skill level is definitely within the average zone of the scale, probably heading lower as I age and continue to lose muscle tone. I would doubt that the typical shooter would be able to extract noticeably tighter results with the longer slide gun. I also find the same sort of results regarding my accuracy with the 365 vs the 365XL, FWIW. I prefer the smaller profile G43X form over the G48 myself, especially if I look at it from a easy-to-carry-and-conceal standpoint. To me the G48 is just a anorexic G19 that at least with factory mags is down 1/3rd on firepower from the thicker gun. YMMV of course, but I've found that our customer base generally agrees with me based on how much better the G43X sells over its sibling. -MG

I prefer the longer barrel and extra slide mass of the 48.

While I do not have any of the slim line glocks I see no difference at all between shooting a 26 19 or 17 in regards to accuracy. If anything my 26 is a hair more accurate than the bigger guns. The only advantage the bigger gun has is sight radius, and this is eliminated with the red dot. I would go with the shorter gun
