Just picked up a used P220 from Cabelas for $375 and need some magazines for it. Are the ACT mags ok or do I need to stick with factory Sig mags?

I used a number of ACT magazines extensively with my P220. Never had any problems with them.

There have been folks with some issues with cracked feed lips I think.

That said I have never had issues with the few I have.

The cracked feed lips were supposedly a problem with the early mags years ago.
New ones should be fine.

I had three stainless I ordered from Greg Cote, who is a forum member here, some seven or eight years ago. Never had a problem with them, they were good to go.

Whenever possible, I like to send business Greg's way. His prices are competitive, if not generally lower than the competition, and his customer service is top notch. He called me directly to handle a question I had:

First Greg (the go to guy on mags) says he has sold a zillion on them and no issues. That would be my benchmark. That said me personally I had several that were not reliable. On the other hand there are many reports of problems with the sig 8 rounders as well.https://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/4900037564
If I was using it for serious use I would use the SIG 7rounders. But for all else the ACT are fine.
just my opinion.

I missed that part while quickly skimming. That's a heck of a deal, whatever vintage and particular model!

I have three or four older nickel plated mags. All are cracked at the top and are used only for range practice. They still feed fine so far.

My P220 ST finicky about mags and doesn’t like the ACT ones. Most problems with the sig mags and yes they have problems too couple known bad batches can be remedied with the Wolff mag springs. I go with the +10 percent. My old West German folded slide P220 soldiers through everything, it all works.

Greg Cote a great guy to do business with.
