Hogue G10 checkeres on my 228 and 239 and G10 that came on my sig ledlgion sao. My 220st has factory plastic and my Sig 1911s all have VZ operator IIs that I sanded the high points down on as they were way to sharp.

madmattHogue G-10s preferably piranhas. Great purchase and perfect for my average hands (on all my 220s). Aluminum felt as good but temperatures were sometimes problematic. At the range, you may have to bench the firearm in the sun and upon re-handling, they got seriously blistering HOT! Or summer or winter when you may have to leave the firearm in the car, grips would become painfully hot or freezing cold respectively. Aluminum grips also have a tendency to vibrate the screws loose during extensive shooting. Nothing a little loctite couldn't remedy if you remember.

Ghost-1Those Piraha's look good and they look like they are what I am looking for. I have been checking out Hogue's website looking at the different grips. I just need to decide which ones I would like to get and try out first.

soggy_spinoutAcross all my SIG pistols...just about every type of grip that's available out there,
except when it comes to G10. With those fancy fiberglass/resin types it's just whatever the factory provided with the gun. I've never really taken a shine to that genotype, nor had the desire to spend a big wad of cash to outfit every single SIG that I own with G10 or Micarta. A couple wear them, but it's not some mandatory thingy.
Sorry Hogue, but when it comes to SIGs I just don't spend the effort or money to look for an 'optimal' grip solution. Mostly they ALL work just as good as the next for me. The ones that didn't were the factory woods that came prior to Hogue becoming the grip OEM supplier. Look up the Webster's definition of 'thick'...there will be a picture of those wood grips. Small hands rebelled and took to roaming the warpath over those.
That being the case, the type that's used the most however ARE woods, whether sourced from the factory (Hogue era), direct from Hogue, Nill or several other third-party vendors. I just like the tradition look of wood stocks and SIGs, Berettas and others make for nice platforms for the conversion.

9mmnutHogue rubber on 226 and 229. Love them.

gundog55I placed the Hogue G10 checkered on my P226 Stainless Elite. Not as pretty as the Wood grips it came with, but feel much better in my hand. I will hang onto the wood grips in the event I want to look pretty again one day as the wood sure does look nice. I should note, that I have shot a 1911 for years and consequently became accustomed to a thinner grip which the G10 grips do provide.

TannerBoylI usually keep my Sigs stock, but on my P239 I use Hogue Wraparound grips and on one of my P220STs I have a set of factory Sig grips that were stipples by Hogue. Those Hogue stipples factory grips are my favorite!
