I an looking around at some different grips for my 226 Da/SA which is being changed over to a DAK and my other 226 and 229 which are already DAK's. I have a regular grips on the 226's and an E2 grip kit on the 229.

I am interested in some of the Hogue G10 series grips and was trying to find out if these fit better than the factory standard grips and the E2 grip kit? I like the E2 kit as it lets me get a little better grip front to back but seems a little thin side to side. The standard grips are to fat side to side but are ok front to back.

For you guy's running the G10 series of grips which ones would you recommend and which ones would feel just about right as far as all around comfort for CCWing and feeling good in the hand with out being to big front to back and side to side?

I have used Hogue's piranha and checkered G-10's on my Sigs and found both comfortable for IWB carry. They're slimmer profile than factory, in both ways you're asking about.

I have Hogue brand checkered G10 grips on both of my SIGs. P238 & X5 Comp. I love these grips – superb traction, yet comfortable.

Crimson Trace on the 239-357, 220 Carry, 229-357, 228, J-frame. Stock checkered on most of the rest, the 229-40 came with factory in the box, and Hogue rubber no fg on it. Was looking at the 226 last night, the factory ones really are kind of slick; may be why I rarely shoot that one. Will keep an eye out for something grippier in the classifieds. Will the old style checkered plastics fit on a 1996 226-357?

I didn't like the cheap magwell funnel grips on my 226 Tcops, so I put on a set of rubber Hogue's. Works like a dream. It may hang up on clothing, I don't know, I don't carry the 226.

Yeah A friend of mine had a set on his 226 and I tried them and like you did not like way the magwell funnel grips were on it.

I guess I will keep an eye out for a set of the G10's for a 226 DAK and 229 DAK and run them and see how I like them.

Hogue G10s on a 229, 220 and 239. The old SIG checkered or rough grips weren't bad.

Hogue rubber panels on P220s and P226s except Legions.

I use the panels the Legions came with since I can't find a Hogue SAO rubber panel.

I am able to get a better grip with the checkering on the aluminum grips. They feel better to me also. I replaced the G10s on my 10mm P220 and on my Allround (had to mill grooves in the grips for the Allround).
