SIG-Sauer announces the P220 10mm
Okay got my 10mm 220. Broke it down cleaned it, oiled it, hand cycled some rounds through it, hugged it once. Now I need a holster that compliments this awesome hunk of metal. Anyone got a suggestion? Oh yeah definitely will sling some rounds through her this weekend. Big Grin

Picked mine up today! I have not yet had the chance to fire it but will soon.

I have about a thousand rounds ready and waiting.

My local dealer was able to get it for me... $1250, good deal for the communist state of Ct. I am curious as to what others are paying.

The gun was $1075 but then we have a 6% state sales tax and the town takes another 1%.

I've seen a pic (I think in this thread) of one coming that has the color scheme but I think it was SAO.

It looks like we're running out of time for SAO to arrive in time to take advantage of the 2 free mag and bag offer from Sig. Frown

I wonder if the reason that none of the others have been released is that they are still looking at the magazine/catch issue??

I cleaned and lubed my reverse two-tone with hope to shoot it this weekend. Wouldn't you know it? I got sick. Spent the entire weekend coughing up a lung. Frown
But I have it ready when I am and I have a big box of various loads from Underwood to try. Smile

I still fail to see having to give a magazine a slight tap to seat an issue.
I have numerous guns that a tap is required to seat the magazine.
As I have stated before I have to slap the snot out of the magazines to seat in my factory Rock River AR and it has who knows how many thousands of flawless rounds through it.

People calling it an issue are just looking for something to gripe about.

I agree completely. I couldn't think of another word to call it. I didn't want to call it a design flaw. Smile

If I found myself using the gun to defend myself and had to reload, I would be smacking it in there a lot harder than that! I don't think it harms a thing bumping it a little harder. Would it be "nice" for it to be as easy as other Sigs? Sure. But I'll take reliability with any ammo over "convenience" any day.

Shot mine again yesterday at the range with with hot Norma Ammo, a 200gr. flat Tip at an advertise 1200 FPS. Found it needed a 6 O'clock hold on 8" round plates at 20 yards. Accurate and 100% reliable. I did notice it was hard to seat the magazine about 1/2 into the magazine well, but under stress I'm sure I wouldn't notice. Order some ammo with JHPs' yesterday so I'll see how my Sig does with them.

would be very interesting to see three or four fellas shooting both the Sig and a Delta Elite , for comparison

I can't say I tried it against a Delta Elite.

Now against a Kimber Custom Eclipse, the P220 comes out second best.

I suppose this is an unfair comparison as the Sig hasn't seen as many rounds as the Kimber.

I talked to my local dealer and he said the SAO might be available in August (Yikes!) or so.

I hope to get out with them next week.
Granted my Delta is not a factory gun, but a stainless Caspian frame and slide hand fitted to the guts from a Delta, with Wolff springs.

I am presuming that the Sig will come out on top for two reasons.

1. I much prefer shooting SA/DA Sigs to any other gun including 1911s. So it is a personal preference thing.

2. The Delta is limited to lighter loads due to the unsupported chamber design. I am contemplating sending it of to BarSto to convert it to a supported chamber but then I think that $700 could just buy another gun so I have yet to pull the trigger on that. Especially when I have a Sig that will handle the heavy loads.

I'll have to give that a try with a timer doing Bill Drills. I expect my Dan Wesson Rasorback 1911 will win out if for nothing else all those years of practice.

Its not the P220 10 auto but it is a nice piece Black92.
