I’d like to replace the factory bar-dot sights with some kind of night sight. Front and back are #8’s

Should I just go with a XS Sig X-Ray’s or Trijicon 3-dot.

Will be for CCW.

Tony.

Would you like 3-dot or black rear Tony?

I always assumed 3-dot was the best but FO front with black rear is my favorite combination currently.

I like that combination on my range, or competition guns, but on my defensive guns, I use the Trijicon HD XR sights with the orange ring around the front tritium sight. They really "POP"!

I prefer the Trijicon XR-HD sights, the rear sight U notch seems to be more efficient as a combo with a front sight that uses a circular dot.

When compared with a conventional square notch rear sight the U style wins out for me.

Purely a personal preference, but I really like the new Trijicon HD sights. That big orange dot dropping into the U rear is a boon for my aging eyes. Still nice sharp edges on the sights to line up when I've got time for precision. Good sights.

I like fiber optics for guns I shoot for fun. Especially shooting outside in good light. Just a little fragile for something I want to count on if it gets banged around a bit.

Night fision has some good sights too, similar to the HRs, cheaper too.

Another vote for Night Fision sights. They are outstanding.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look at Trijicon XR's and the Night Fision if I can find any in stock.

All of my blasters, except the USP Tactical, have Ameriglo Hackathorn sights. Been quite happy with them not to mention the consistent sight picture across all platforms.

Night fision are really nice, may still have a 30% off on their website. I have like 5 pairs on my glocks. They come in square rear notch and U notch. And are very bright tritium. Also not as bulky and sharp on the rears like the trijicon HD’s.

I ended up putting the Sig X Rays on my. 228. I thought they were priced right and had the features I wanted. I've not been a big fan of the U notch in the Trijicon HDs, but it's 100% a preference thing.

Always got to go with what works best. I'm cheap so I tend to shop Ameriglo. I've been looking for a new set for one of my P229s and their SG-616 looks like the configuration for me since I do prefer the dot-over-post style. As my eyes age the rear dots of the typical 3-dot sight have become a blurry mess; a single centered highlight is still doable but a plain blackened rear works just as good for me these days.

Don't forget MEPROLIGHT as an option, and no sharp points as some of the others mentioned.
