Changing things around I am going to try a compact frame with a full size slide for better conceal ability. Is anyone else trying this. I carry a compact for EDC just trying something different.

This configuration was offered from the factory for a time in the mid-2010s, model number 320C-9-FLS (FLS = full length slide), but it didn't really seem to catch on and was dropped from the lineup of offerings. Whereas the opposite, the Carry model with its full length grip and Compact slide, proved much more popular.

I briefly experimented with it when I owned both a P320 Full and a P320 Compact, but personally I didn't find that the extra 0.6" in barrel/slide length provided any real benefits over just the standard Compact configuration. Certainly not enough to justify someone who owns a P320C spending hundreds of dollars on buying an entirely new Full Size slide assembly.

Thanks for your reply. I had a extra compact grip module and thought I would give it a try till my Wilson Combat carry grip module arrives.

Yes, as stated:

But for the sake of the terminology police, what you’re actually asking about is putting a full size slide assembly on a compact grip module. The P320 frame or receiver is the trough-shaped serialized part that fits inside the grip module. That part is the same for all 9mm, 357 SIG, and 40 S&W P320s regardless of what grip modules are used.

Thanks for the photos Rogue/sf.
If I could luck into a FS complete slide in 357Sig, I'd give it a shot.
More likely I'd pick up a SC grip & use my C slide on it.

Neither the XCompact or Compact slide will look good on a full size grip module because the FS accessory rail on the bottom would extend forward of those slides.

If one wants a full size’s grip and magazine capacity, the Compact can be turned into a “Carry” model using a Carry grip module. The accessory rail is the proper length for the Compact slide, but the grip and magazine are bigger than the Compact’s. The last time I looked the Carry model was no longer listed by SIG, but Carry grip modules are available, including from Wilson Combat. My Carry in 357 SIG that I carry ( Wink ) uses a WC grip module.

Just cut the rail to length.

I put my full size 320RX onto a compact frame to make it print less. I am happy with the results. Not concerned about losing a couple of rounds.

Forgive my photography skills. My P250 is a 45acp but the comparison should be about the same for a 9 or 40 variant.

Well that's unique.
For me, the compact slide is ideal for IWB, I think a FS would bee too long for me, or if have to adjust it to carry higher.
With how I IWB carry, a SC grip would help for comfort while seated in the car. My desk chair has a mesh back & isn't affected as much. Would then carry a compact mag for a reload.

I had one of the factory full-length slides on compact frames. I'm a huge fan of the X-Grip module and wanted to make that move. I took a full size grip and took a hack saw to it. Took off enough to allow a compact magazine to lock in properly.

I think I would have just bought a used compact grip module than hack off the end of it. They're usually half price, used on Gunbroker.
