My P229 9mm "build" I was able to complete for $362
Pretty happy with how this project turned out. Here is the math:
-P229 .40 DAO PD trade in: $282 from a local shop. -DA/SA hammer: $25 from a guy on reddit -Decocking lever bearing: $14 from ebay -Decocking lever and spring: FREE (already in my parts box) -Complete P229 elite slide in FDE: $250 from a guy on reddit -5 P229 magazines: $100 from a guy on reddit
Total cost for everything: $671
After converting the .40 to 9mm by swapping the slides, and converting the DAO to DA/SA, I sold the .40 upper/mags for $300 and the DAO hammer for $20. After the shipping fees:
Total cost deductions: $309
My total comes out to $362 for a 9mm, DA/SA, German framed P229 with a P229 elite slide, plus 5 mags. Pretty pleased, though the two-tone look hasn't been something I have ever cared much for. Nicely done! Whenever I build something I always end up spending more than I would have to just buy it from the factory already built. You did it right!
